Pete Sounds pretty good. Pete Stilwell seems to care about the community. As a current SC2 player (I used to play BW before), I'm glad he's not like David Kim and Dustin Browder.  I've also watched his interview here: + Show Spoiler + Yeah they are doing the best job one can possible hope for. I don't get the hatred sometimes here. They are doing what they are supposed to be doing: listen to what the progamers want, and fixing it. It's very refreshing to see that this game is going exactly in the direction veterans want.
People expect things to be perfect the first time new patches are out, especially when it worked well in the previous version.
Little do they know, anything can go wrong in terms of updates (especially when they changed everything from DirectDraw to OpenGL).

just wanted to play on LAN with my brother.
-1.18 won't work because my shit pc i have at my parents house only supports OpenGL up to 1.4
-so driver updates didn't do a thing
-still got the old 1.15 blizzard installer because i just recently installed it on this PC
-deinstalled 1.18
-started installing the old one but did need my key from battle.net, at least one of them
-log into battle.net
-click on games library
-battle.net is under maintenance...
-try the original keys since i just found the old box
-old keys don't work with new installer...
well...there goes the evening :/

For Blizzard standards you can expect perfect things. "It's done when it's done" does/did not apply here at all, not in the least possible way. It really feels like they didn't test the ptr on their own before going live. Almost none of the little features as chat commands or whatever was just not there.

yea i think those are just outdated games, they're not getting removed from the join list. if you see games with 1 player in it for a while that most likely means it's a dead lobby.

I'm just playing 1.16 on fish and iccup. By the way TT1 I found your guide on how to enable wlauncher...so helpful.. for the longest time I didn't know why koreans were banning me thinking I had wlauncher installed. The old korean lobby trick...

Did anyone manage to get custom hotkey working? They seem to have change where they pull it from since patch_rt.mpq doesn't affect the ingame hotkey.
1.18 ptr hsd hotkey on sepetste folder. So its safe to assume that 1.18 client is pulling hotkeys from different sources than the patch_rt.mpq file. Ptr hotkey implementation was merely the stat_text file in patch_rt.mpq file that could be modified in a ingame ui.

They need to give the option to turn off camera mini map view points on replays. Ive trained myself to look at movement on the minimap, so watching a replay is just a frustrating fight between the impulse to watch meaningless coloured squares fly around on the minimap, or the game. -_-

This patch has a glitch where the game list is populated with a large number of dead games. It is very hard to find real games right now.

I assume he is talking about the colored boxes which represent the players view box in observer mode which you can see in this video. It can be difficult to ignore the colors flickering around on the minimap while watching the game.
