SC: Remastered mainly for multiplayer? Nothing mentioned on campaign. Currently, there is already SC: Mass Recall. Made by fans, and it is amazingly good.

IDK why I can't respond to posts, but the point is, you can dt drop, but my units (hopefully) won't run around in circles when i tell them to go to my cc, and if they do, at least it will look better. the fact is dealing with shit like that in bw original took years of practicing, part of what made it great, sure, but casual players who just want to have fun are not gonna play a terribly stretched and bad looking game vs try hards, if they have windowed mode available and reasonable graphics, then they might be more inclined to give dying to dt's and mass gateway units with a maxed mech army a try.

Mech isn't viable against Protoss even in Brood War folks, you heard it here first.

SC2 already exists, why are people trying to make BW more like SC2? What's wrong with keeping BW mechanics for the "try hards" that invested those years into practicing so that their units didn't run around in circles? If you don't like those mechanics, play SC2. If you do, play BW. BW HD should be BW with improved graphics, nothing else, not BW ft. SC2 mechanics.

I only ever played BW Champagne, but I would play this a lot i think, would be so sick.

If it doesn't pull enough number then what's the point? We can discuss about how many is enough but I very much doubt that this new BW would retain much of the players that decide to try it at all except the game is heavily streamlined even then I doubt it.

The point is that "enough" isn't as high as you think it is imo. This wouldn't be a project with massive amounts of costs attached to it. Fairly low costs most likely with a fairly big potential in korea and even in the west there surely are people who would try bw if it wasn't so inaccessible. Will people keep playing it? Who knows, the game is pretty good even if it has tough mechanics. The goal surely isn't to beat the popular games these days



It might be low cost if they only adjusted a few things, and maybe it kicks a lot of people to just buy to play the campaign again. We can't likely know why Blizzard decided to do this until we get an official interview, maybe management just loves StarCraft franchise.

If it has a ton of players though, its not like Blizzard is going to make it a "pay to play" so if people keep playing they'd lose money on servers i'd assume...

I dont see why they couldnt include lots of cosmetic in game purchases (skins etc), might pay for it.

I somehow doubt game will be f2p tho I really wish it would be.

Other than that the only thing Id add are custom hotkeys... not sure I'd use them but there's no reason to not have them.

A decade ago, I was very hyped for the announcement of a new starcraft game. SC:BW has always been my favorite, most played game and I could not be happier for a new expansion in the series. My expectations were not very high, all i was asking for was to fix bugs, fix resolution, add 1 unit max per race and maybe include an additional race.

Then SC2 came out in 2010 and like many other, I was quite disappointed by the product. It was designed to be easy to play (select all buildings at once), micro-ing a stacked army was just meh and i could not enjoy community with the shitty battle net 2.0. BW and SC2 were simply two different games from my point of view, it was black and white! The only resemblance was the unit names.

I see the release of StarCraft High Definition as the expansion i was wanting so much 10 years ago. I don't really care if there are minor changes, as long as it feels like real BW continuity. Once again, I'm jumping in the hype train and I just hope I won't be disappointed or be waiting forever.

I heard of Chinese outsourcing companies getting sprite redrawing contract for a Starcraft title last year, I guess this is it then. Hope they don't fuck the art style up like HoMM3 HD did.

Would be keen as to play the campaigns again in higher quality. Can't be a bad thing, I imagine all the pros would stick to the original version regardless.

Though the supposed announcement date and release date seem very weird so expecting this to be bull.

Yeah I can't Imagine Blizzard selling a game with all the 1998 fun (MBS, automine, smartcast, decent pathfinding, scarab AI (can you believe that back in 1998 I was blown away by SC pathfinding ? Well compared to age of empire or total annihilatio,...)).

Maybe we'll have a "legacy mode" but I doubt it will get much attention.
So if they mordenize the game they will need to adjust balance, so how they'll handle it ?

- BW style : adjust shortly after the game's out, once and for all, then leave it to the mapmakers (maybe giving them better tools to handle balance and thus we get more varied maps ?)

- SC2 style : try to control balance and metagame (as if it is possible), loose tons of employes working time and ruin the game with rock, paper, sicsors units bulshit ? ( I might be slightly biased )


oh and then Blizzard forces the scene and Korea to switch to this new SC2 mode as they always do, splitting the community again.

Makes sense. The only ones complaining about no MBS, automine etc are SC2 people, and the SC2 scene in korea and foreign is miniscule compared to the Korean BW scene.

You guys either adjust to the majority, which is the Korean BW scene, or go back to SC2. Please don't try to force another game down our throat
