Edit: Also, does anyone have any advice on what to do after 1 rax FE against lurker opening? Anything specific? Just wait until you get up against Zerg players who can actually muta micro. That's far worse than lurkers, imo. Push out with your first mnm group and try to deny the first base. If he already has lurkers on the ramp, just keep that army in front of the 4th so they can't take it for free. Accelerate your tech to fast double starport and build double vessel -> 4 dropships. Drop the main and 3rd while pressuring the front with your bio/vessel force. Don't walk into lurkers. Oh i'm sure it is. I've played against a smurf with good muta micro and see at least with muta im impressed. Lurker is pretty brain dead unless your doing some cool hold position attack or something but never had it happen to me yet. I forget who said this but there is a great thing I heard about stuff like this: when you stop giving your opponent/their strat/build any respect and start calling it bullshit or braindead, that's when you stop treating it as a hill to climb and start seeing it as a wall to avoid. Like people who start a game against Random player and immediately leave. Or people who fail to learn to parallel park for their driving test because "that's bullshit." Maybe it is you who sends MnM without scan who is braindead? Imagine if Protoss never used Observer against you, and just sent their army everywhere when you have mines... Would it be fair to say that mines/your strat are braindead?

You're taking me too seriously. In the grand scheme of things in this game i actually don't think anything is ACTUALLY bullshit. But the fact that im bad at marine micro makes it brain dead for the enemy zerg.

Until you get more experience or more muta openings, I would advise you to always go 2 rax academy after expanding. With this opening you can contain the Zerg before lurkers are out if they opened with 3 hatch lurker while you can tech fast off 2-3rax. With the faster tech you can also occasionally win with a 3tank/1 vessel pre-defiler push.

I paid $15 for this.

Tried to update and they gifted me this. Their "repair tool" is useless, it didn't do shit and still gives this error.

I was thinking today what BW would be like if we had title matches. Basically to avoid the problem of one half of the bracket being stacked and the semi-finals or quarter-finals having a more interesting match than the finals. ie: a system where people have to play a tournament to earn the challenge match against the defending champion. Which of course would be Flash.
Maybe it would have worked better in the past when there was a lot more BW to play, since the champions greatest reward would be focusing on proleague matches. These days maybe the air-time on TV is so valuable that it would actually be a punishment to only get to play one day.
But at the same time... You could make the champ match so epic, even having greater liberty to play with the format. Maybe giving a month after the tournament final for both players to ultra prepare.
Retrospectively, I wonder if it would have been better or worse in the KeSPA days. Almost all finals were very good then, with the only exception being ZvZ. Honestly maybe it would have been worse, I never really watched any sport that used this system, even though I'm pretty sure that's how Go works. I guess it's more valuable when you run a school or take apprentices to have a title. We had the idea of current S-class in BW, but never really current champion. In BW you're champion for one day. Even when you win a golden mouse, it's kind of a brief moment of glory.
tldr: what do you think of titles in BW?

Do you mean kinda like boxing/MMA titles with various titleholders?

I've been living in New Jersey for over 10 years, so I speak fluent New Joizeyan, but Russia will always be the motherland.
Personally, I still prefer to play in SD pillarbox or whatever it's called.

That 'got eliminated by the eventual winner in ro8 but could be 2nd best in tournament' is solved by double elimination, BUT all starleagues had group stages, be it little double elim groups(MSL dual tournament) or OSL's Round Robins, which determined the seeds for eventual single elim brackets.
and also, looking back imo proleague >> starleague storylines, hype, team strategy, team depth, map strategy, sniping(match up specialists), occasional Winners League (All-Kill format), Grand Finals... Shame we won't have that ever again >_<

Very enjoyable late game TvT right now on Merz' stream. Essentially Ghost/nuke vs BC/medic. Edit: It's over. I'll try to post a VOD later.

Hey all, so I just got SC:R after not playing any BW for like 8 years, and I was wondering where the best places to get ladder games are? I'm currently playing the "ranked" ladder that came with SC:R, but I barely get any matches, and most of the time just load into an empty lobby with no opponent before restarting the queue. Are most people still on ICCup or Fish or whatever other server?

Are custom hotkeys 100% the standard now (ladder/casual matches/etc.)? I wanna change mine but not if I'm going to have to switch back and forth between games.

Recent Korean as well as foreign tournaments all seem to allow it. Don't bother playing with the few elitists who don't allow it, not your loss.

Most people are currently playing on the Remastered ladder. The issue with the blank enemy side then getting requeued is almost always because you need to open/forward port 6112 on your router. portforward.com is a great resource if you need assistance.
