to play it, you need a server and a modified battle.snp the server can be a pvpgn server set up via 2 computers (1 server, 1 client + other player(s)) using hamachi it can also be a standard pvpgn server, but it has to allow broken/unknown applications as for battle.snp you change the ips in it near 0001EDF4
you also need the cracked exe, otherwise you will get an error after building one unit thank tec27 for cracking

well i got a problem here, i have downloaded
NetcraftBattleSnp.rar ( netcraft connection ? ) NewStarcraftBetaExe.rar
overwrite both, and try to connect, there is no respond. Stopped in "searching for the fastest battle.net server" and nothing happens.
BTW: I dont have orginal starcraft/brood war installed. But i think that unnesecery... sry for language.

I am relatively certain that Netcraft's setup makes it impossible for the beta version to connect. I only made that battle.snp based on a request, haven't even tested it TBH. I *hope* to have a little tutorial up by tonight as to how you can setup your own private server to play on.

Netcraft is just fine, but if you have some another pvpgn mod, i will wait for your tutorial. I thought the snp works for netcraft for sure :p

Please dont answer if you cant say anything about the topic. Stop that thread about "what is sc beta" cause that will make trash, and all valuable information will be burried by that useless talk.
Thank you.
tec27 we waiting for your tutorial I hope you will post it as soon as possible.

great thx tec27!!, i got the
PvPGN-1.8.0rc2-1-Win32.zip
this sounds like the last release. Unpacked it and changed "bnetd.conf" in this way:
skip_versioncheck = true allow_unknown_version = true
that will allow the beta to connect. But i cant find where to change or see my pvpgn server IP, help please

If you're not, go to Start->Run and type in "cmd" (without quotes). Then when the command prompt pops up, type in "ipconfig" (again without quotes). That'll give you the computer's IP Address.
Good luck!

well tec27, i know my own ip adress, but i ask where to configure the PVPGN server ip adress ? somewhere in bnetd.conf ?
"servaddrs = "213.134.168.200" # default interface (all) and default port (6112)"
is that right ?

Uh ok, i leave that option with ":", and when i try to connect from my sc beta, the in-starcraft window appears that could not connect " your system has been not configured to support 32bit internet applications blablabla" and the pvpgn server window looks like that:
Server is now running. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Jul 27 19:25:24 [error] packet_set_size: invalid size 1 for udp packet Jul 27 19:25:24 [error] packet_get_type: udp packet is shorter than header (len=0) Jul 27 19:25:24 [error] packet_get_type: udp packet is shorter than header (len=0) Jul 27 19:25:24 [error] handle_udp_packet: [348] got unknown udp packet type 0x0000, len 0 from 127.0.0.1:1047 Jul 27 19:25:24 [error] packet_set_size: invalid size 1 for udp packet Jul 27 19:25:24 [error] packet_get_type: udp packet is shorter than header (len=0) Jul 27 19:25:24 [error] packet_get_type: udp packet is shorter than header (len=0) Jul 27 19:25:24 [error] handle_udp_packet: [348] got unknown udp packet type 0x0000, len 0 from 127.0.0.1:1047 Jul 27 19:25:28 [error] packet_set_size: invalid size 1 for udp packet Jul 27 19:25:28 [error] packet_get_type: udp packet is shorter than header (len=0) Jul 27 19:25:28 [error] packet_get_type: udp packet is shorter than header (len=0) Jul 27 19:25:28 [error] handle_udp_packet: [348] got unknown udp packet type 0x0000, len 0 from 127.0.0.1:1048 Jul 27 19:25:28 [error] packet_set_size: invalid size 1 for udp packet Jul 27 19:25:28 [error] packet_get_type: udp packet is shorter than header (len=0) Jul 27 19:25:28 [error] packet_get_type: udp packet is shorter than header (len=0) Jul 27 19:25:28 [error] handle_udp_packet: [348] got unknown udp packet type 0x0000, len 0 from 127.0.0.1:1048
That error appears when i installed and uninstalled hamachi before connection to mine server was impossible but without that mess.
btw... I modified the battle.snp for mine own ip adress correctly.

Are you running the server and the client on the same computer? If so, that won't work (as stated in the guide). It'd be fine if you were using a normal starcraft client, cause you can change which port it uses in that, but with the starcraft beta, you cannot. So it will try to use 6112, even though that port is already in use by the server, and then it will error with something along the lines of what you got.
