It's kind of obvious that the players say whatever their management wants them to say but I hope that Flash actually enjoys SC2 that much for his own sake.
Kind of hoped the Ace match was BW tbh.
Anyway, I'm kind of excited to see how this turns out since I love both games. The maps they are using are all technically GSL maps, with the exception of no space sharks, neutral depots and forced spawns (this is probably the most significant difference). Having said that, let's just hope they change the map pool at the end of Round 1 so that it becomes the tournament version (once they've had more time to practice on the tournament version of maps and stuff) They're in the GSL map pool yes but they aren't GSL produced maps like Dual Sight, Daybreak, Atlantis Spaceship etc. But yes, hopefully they'll change to tournament versions after Round 1 or something like that. They can't use these versions through the entire season

Well, we knew this was happening for sometime. Not like they can hear us or pay any attention when we ask them to keep the two separate in league play.
This season of PL is going to be absolutely dreadful to watch. I'll just cheer for all of them to pick up the game fast, so we don't have to go back to the dark ages.

They can't use these versions through the entire season Most GSL-produced maps were made by Korean community members, and aside from Daybreak and Tal'Darim Altar, I've got to be honest and say most of their other maps aren't really as good as some of the ones made by ESV.

I'm wondering if the crowd sits for the BW matches and then leaves during the sc2 matches. I've been hearing rumors amongst my friends that if they attend they wouldn't be interested in the sc2 portions. Whether they and others in mass make good on that, I don't know.

BW newbie here. I don't know where to find the proleague VODs. Will the e-sports TV on youtube post the VOD of the new season? Or are there other ways to watch the tournament?

Worst part is that it hurts OSL too. Starting on the 20th, all OSL players are gonna be playing televised sc2... ya you can guess the best Brood War players aren't gonna get to ignore SC2 until OSL is done T.T

Well we will see when this season begins. If that happens consistently throughout the season, though, that will be a telling sign.

Q: You changed your race for SC2, why? Clam: Before I started I was thinking about which race to play, and I thought it would be more fun if I played a different race. I also thought that it would be interesting for viewers, so I switched.
Oh you Clam, now we wont have a brain zerg making mass queens work

Let me see if anyone here disagrees with this... but I am convinced with this format there is absolutely no reason to practice BW.
With Bo3 Bo3 ace match, one point is decided by BW two by SC2. Meaning a team could win every single game never winning a single BW match. If it was a straight Bo7 then it would place more weight on the BW games, because you could make up a loss on the SC2 side by dominating the BW games.
The rule about the switching off between the two games disfavors BW for the same reason. If you were allowed to have specialized BW players you could be more confident that you would win the BW Bo3, but in this case...given the choice between your players practicing BW and SC2, you are going to improve your odds by having everyone practice SC2 all the time. If you have a Bonjwa you can get two games out of him in SC2.
Conclusion: The BW competition will suffer even more than if the players split their time half and half with this format, because the setup provides little incentive to be the better BW team. + Show Spoiler +....and yet it will still be more fun to watch the broodwar games.
My only hope is that the players inherent love of BW will overcome their desire to win....the comments to the press unfortunately indicate otherwise...not that any comments to the press ever really mean anything...ever.

Isn't that a rumor?
And I don't mean one of those fomos article " rumors " that are actually leaked news by kespa but an actual rumor with no evidence at all that someone on TL made up.

Wouldn't it be funny if Flash turned out to be terrible at SC2?

Especially ones made by posters who subsequently deleted their posts.
Anyway, T1's coach has confirmed that both Bisu and Fantasy will stick to their respective races. At least for this season.

I believe that Kespa's intent is to get the players to focus on SC2, thus putting more weight on SC2 matches as you said. Its a sad day for all.

Ok, going to bed now then. To dream horrible nightmares, I guess.
Thanks for the coverage!
