I'm more than just disappointed, this is just so so dumb. I'll pray hard this isn't implemented. You realize that there is a demand for OGN-produced SC2 content, right? Anyway, I hope Kespa rethinks this stupidity, because this move could be, quite frankly, "killing Esports".

They must have all agreed that SC2 is total shit as a spectator sport because they are trying to combine SC2 and BW. Did they think they were going to attract viewership from BW fans by sprinkling in BW games? It's like putting lipstick on a pig and expecting it to win a beauty contest.

It's play rate in internet cafes or the fan response for the professional tournaments is really lukewarm at best. This couldn't be more obvious given the boringness of watching SC2 as a spectator sport. And now they are trying to cram BW and SC2 together in order to scrape as much viewership from the bottom of the bucket. This is just fucking idiotic. They must have all agreed that SC2 is total shit as a spectator sport. Did they think they were going to attract viewership from all the BW fans by sprinkling in BW games? It's like putting lipstick on a pig and expecting it to win a beauty contest. I don't think that that's what Kespa was thinking when they made this plan. In all honesty, it sounds more like they either planned this as a test run to check if SC2 works in their format or they just had no time and had to incorporate it into their preset time schedule (or both). Also, "sprinkling in BW games" does not make sense at all because the games attract a different attendance (for the most part at least). It would probably deflect the people that are interested solely in SC2, too. Aside from that, your post sounds really angry and bitter.

It seems like they're hedging their bets - seeing if SC2 will catch on rather than switching entirely right away, just in case a complete switch to SC2 flubs. But let's suppose that some of the fans only enjoy BW - will they put up with having half of the games as non-BW?

If you really want to attract fans of one game to the other, give them a default rebate so they can "test the waters". This sytem is just forcing either game down the throat of both communities. The hammer method never works.

If anything SC2 will just look like a pretentious wannabe replacement. Especially if the games played are the usual lackluster.

QFT I couldn't have said it better myself, thanks for summing up my (and I'm sure other people's) thoughts so well.

White horse, are you from korea? I really want to believe what you are saying about the SC2 not catch in on in korea (I love BW to death, could care less about sc2), but I really am not sure if your right. If you are from korea/know korea well, what are GSL attendence rates, and how do they compare to BW, etc. Can you explain some of this stuff? Thanks! Also, this idea seems really strange at best... will flash be playing both games then?

Not enough balls to make a decisive decision making a mockery of the game by sticking one feet in and one foot out. There is no safe way to transition out of one game to another. You simply gotta go all in or don't go at all.

When I see you guys complain it feels like you believe 'BW Purists' pop out of the ground nowhere with hatred of SC2. News flash, there are some brood war players who actually like SC2 and play both games. Why don't you wait for the metagame to develop better so that more people will like the game that way instead of trying to brainwash us forcibly? The only reason to do it is to slowly introduce the BW Purists to a new game slowly.[/QUOTE] The vast majority of people who were interested in SC2 already made the transition. We're talking about a trinkle. Blizzard would be better off releasing HotS and making sure they don't make the same mistakes twice. I am talking about inside korea because its obvious a massive amount of the audience hasn't switched...

Yes it's the 'BW purists' both inside and outside korea. This is not a matter of introducing us to sc2, we've already been acquainted. Forcibly reintroducing us or 'them' being the ones in Korea isn't going to make a spot of difference no matter how slow you do it.
