It's also understandable that sc2 has really advance AI and game design that unit clump on to each other whenever you group them in control group . I mean sc2 is pretty advance in everything ...

Not really that much of a surprise considering a lot still dont like the PL format changes. Along with many others in the thread I think its a terrible idea. If they wanted to have a sep sc2 league for bw players I would find it interesting but to mix it like that is just disrespectful for both games.

I refuse to believe this is true.
All the good SC2 talent on the SC2 teams will just be poached by the BW teams. KeSPA has no intention of playing nice with the current SC2 scene; they want to destroy it.
Hell, maybe they'll stop SC2 after this one season, leaving the SC2 scene in tattered ruins.

I stand by my last line. Better off to wait for Blizzard to release the expansion and market that right.
Koreans aren't playing the game at PCBangs for several reasons. The honeymoon is over and a lot of them did try it. Hell, Blizzard's smear campaign was all over the place not to mention the price points per market didn't help the situation especially in Korea. It's really not viable for the PCBangs and the consumers don't want to. It's very inconvenient and the gamebase is always changing. Right now its all about MOBA/F2P MMOS.
What? Where did this "Blizzard shoved the SC2 scene down everyone's throats" meme come from? Blizzard gave GOM the rights to competitive SC2 and they stopped thinking about the e-sports scene completely until like three months ago when they realized there was money in it.

It's play rate in internet cafes or the fan response for the professional tournaments is really lukewarm at best. These are facts. No matter what SC2 fans may think, this is the reality. SC2 just doesn't deliver as a spectator sport. And now they are trying to cram BW and SC2 together in order to scrape as much viewership from the bottom of the bucket. It's just fucking idiotic.
They must have all agreed that SC2 is total shit as a spectator sport because they are trying to combine SC2 and BW. Did they think they were going to attract viewership from BW fans by sprinkling in BW games? It's like putting lipstick on a pig and expecting it to win a beauty contest.
White horse, are you from korea? I really want to believe what you are saying about the SC2 not catch in on in korea (I love BW to death, could care less about sc2), but I really am not sure if your right. If you are from korea/know korea well, what are GSL attendence rates, and how do they compare to BW, etc.
Can you explain some of this stuff? Thanks!
Also, this idea seems really strange at best... will flash be playing both games then?
I don't have statistics. But I read the article posted in OP and I have also read other articles about korean esports and this article and those other ones generally point out that SC2 hasn't caught on much as people expected it to. SC2 should have been bigger than BW given the hype and the preparation for it. Even the kartrider and the special forces leagues are humming along at a nice pace. I do know that in broadcasted SC2 games, the spectator seats are a lot less filled than the BW matches, and many of the people that are onsite are foreigners rather than koreans. In BW matches, the OGN studio is basically crammed full to the point where there aren't enough seats available.
Korean SC2 was on the exclusively on the web site of an online media player for months after released, and then eventually rebroadcast on Anibox. That's why Blizz is throwing GOM under the bus and sucking up to KeSPA, because KeSPA will market it way better than GOM (unless they purposefully kill it, which I wouldn't put past them).
That said, SC2 attendance is going up while BW attendance is going down. BW is still >>>>>>>>>>>>> SC2 in popularity in Korea (which is why the "SC2 is killing BW" makes no sense), but the Korean SC2 scene is no longer comical.

Yes, if anything either SC2 will improve b/c people will realize how crap it is, or BW will resurge.
Or both. SC2 has been slowly improving, HotS makes several baby steps in the right direction by discouraging large deathballs as a stated design goal, and there's still a lot of experimenting being done with maps. I imagine 6m1g or the like is going to be a big revolution for SC2. Over on the BW side, too, it could benefit from a little freshing up and reshuffling. Flash has been the Bonjwa for like fifty years now. And absence makes the heart grow fonder, as well.

And if you MUST mix it, you could do something like having a BW PL and and SC2 PL with the same teams (difference squads, obviously), and then the if KT won BW proleague and CJ Entus won SC2 proleague, then you could have them play one of these weird half-and-half matches to be declared Unified Starcraft Champion, or something along those lines. Then, even though it's a stupid idea, the sheer novelty of it would make it a pretty big draw. That kind of works.
I don't know.. I'd love to know if the thinking is "let's sell SC2 by attaching it to a much more popular game", or "let's try to reinvigorate BW by attaching it to a hip trendy game with a growing scene". Or both.
Ribbon, I'm not going to respond to your whole post, but i think the idea that Blizzard is hostile to the BW scene came from their extended efforts to litigate it out of existence shortly after Sc2's release.

Haha that's funny... Oh no wait, you're just a fucking tool. Your kind would never have showed up here if it weren't for that poisonous game and it's community being inclusive and accepting of dimwitted children. Standards slipped the minute the mass-market turned up. Everyone from community members, to developers, to players to major organisers suddenly realised that they don't really care about standards/loyalty as long as there's money going to come at them. Enter people like this, en mass. An unearned superiority in the hands of anyone who wants it, creates so many entitled, gleeful internet children with no idea of to whom they are actually gloating, and how much we've put into this game.
Teamliquid mods do their best, but you people keep popping up.

Im actually more concerned about people like you, the dude had an opinion and didn't even say much.. worst class of bw fan is the one that thinks we live inside a box yay, I understand you might love bw because I do aswell but come on.. there was no need to bash him for nothing... The whole bw + sc2 idea still sounds horrible, as I said before if it had to happen I'd rather see only sc2, if all this is true kespa might be drunk or something..
Honestly, the worst thing that could happen is to have bad quality SC2 games like we had in GSL Open Seasons, which would make the BW fans even more angry. The games we have in SC2 right now are fine and entertaining since the game has evolved quite a bit, but if they start from scratch here once again while comparing directly with BW, it will be a disaster and nobody will want to watch.
Why don't they just add 10 rounds of Special Forces for the ace match.
Fuck this shit, if this is pushed through, or BW will be left hanging and they're gonna focus on SC2 then consider me and I'm pretty sure some, if not most, Loyal BW fans 'gone'.

Now we have different class of bw fans ? What's the hierarchy than ? Outside of the box, inside the box like solid snake, live between the box ? . I like boxes you know, in metal gear solid they play a crucial role in ensuring that you sneak pass guard undetected .
This is a really dumb idea. It clearly disadvantages Ace and Team 8 and it just makes it seem like they're trying to abandon BW. Just separate the games... The fans of either games don't want this shit.
okay. i will slowly dig trough the pages, but still i will post a great displeasure at the idea itself.
i am not a hater but sc2 bores me to no end and if i have to waste a lot of time for a game i dont care and the fate of my team will be decided by something i take great displeasure in.
proleague is dead and all i will ever watch will be stuff posted in recent recommended threads...
wow a lot of this fourm recently is how Kespa and Gom killing each other, sounds like a moive with both companys plotting to destory each other, Starcraft the moive: crafting death or something corny
This is ridicoluos! This is crazy! This is nonsense! This is nightmare!!!
Why there can't be separate BW proleague and SC2 proleague at the same time? Who will play SC2 in the BW teams? Flash will play both games now? This is bullshit!
The games are different! Is like playing 1 set football, then 2 set basketball! It is %*?*;№?%№!!!

Indeed, what will happen to ACE team?!
I suggest this 1 set : Special Forces 2 set : BroodWar 3 set : League of Legends 4 set : StarCraft 2 5 set : CHESS 6 set : BOX 7 set : Any other game.
