And this is only natural. There is more money in the sc2 circuit, more people following, its a finance move for kespa, why can´t they grab a shot at the money cow that is (right now, and hopefully for a long time) Sc2 tournaments? And sc2 is fine.

Perhaps there's more international prize money involved in SC2, but to say more money overall is ludicrous

I think you got what he said backwards.. yes there is more money in broodwar.. for the players.. That wasn't what was said, it was about Kespa trying to get some of the huge international money being thrown at sc2.. that the players aren't getting. If they get the same level of interest / sponsorship for sc2 as they do bw.. they'll turn over a bigger profit because they are giving less of it back.

This is the time for kespa AS A COMPANY that needs money to get up in the bandwagon, which will get sc2 and bw bigger and bigger. But people need to stop being "magic christmas land" about BW. The game's growth has stopped - long time ago. It is a great game, but people are fancying more sc2 right now, and it has a great growth potential - even if BW players/fans say otherwise.

What were the foreign broodwar tournaments like? Did Koreans ever come over to complete like they do now? Would Kespa intervene with the growth of SC2 globally and kind of shut the Korean teams in Korea, and shut the Foreign teams out? Would Korean players still have the opportunities to come to foreign tournaments or would Kespa prevent them from doing so? Did broodwar teams make their own decisions or did everything have to go through Kespa for approval?

Foreign BW tournaments generally did not allow Koreans in the first place. The teams decided if their players could go abroad for events like WCG (which was always allowed anyway), because they are under contract with the teams. Players on contracts can't expect to go and do what they like, people talk about professionalism so much in SC2, well this is part of it. Proleague format run's constantly for most of the year, with gaps in between 'rounds'. There's less time for players to be able to do other tournaments in between PL play, especially if the GSL is still running too. I think it's too complicated of a situation already because of Blizzard's deal with Gretech. KeSPA usually requires progamers to have licenses so they are infact, professional. How this could work, plus all the scheduling conflicts i have no idea. Gretech isn't even going to want to give up their exclusivity in the first place yet everyone here is assuming they would (why?).
