chills all up and down!!! this is really really awesome, more eSports always a good thing

I don't want kespa hurting the current sc2 teams or forcing them to pick up BW team sponsorships. If that doesn't happen, great news.

Does this mean topplayers will be dedicated to tournaments without English speaking casters? If so, I hope this doesn't come true. If GomTV will cast it, then I'm indifferent, I guess.

Hopefully they just make it so the ace match is a Starcraft II match between the two aces of each Brood War team if it comes down to a 7th set. Then we can see Bisu, Flash, etc...playing SC2.

Why can't they?
Here in NA we have NASL, MLG, IGN
do they not all do fairly well?

Hey, maybe they'll be hired by OGN and we can get live english BW commentary in addition to SC2 commentary! I would actually love that. One of the primary reasons I don't watch much BW is the lack of English.

Ooh, I am excited for this!

I want sc2 in proleague I hope something good will come out of this.

My question is: How's kespa gonna form new sc2 teams?
They are struggling with some bw teams already, deciding to build brand new ones for sc2 is insanity. Where are they gonna get the sponsors?
What's gonna happen to the current gstl teams?

It only makes sense that the Korean teams start thinking about the future. That said, upgrading their PCs and making internal tests still sounds very cautious and implies that it's going to be a slow process transitioning over to SC2.
Still, they have to start somewhere! They're probably waiting how the talks with the license holders go.
But yeah, more SC2 tournaments in Korea, more organisations getting involved, more broadcasts, more players being recruited/switching over - this can only be a good thing.

Oh god, MBC SC2 team??!?!? I'm probably going to die if this comes to fruition.
Conspiracy note: Four top SC:BW players coming to blizzcon this weekend hmm...

This could actually extend BW's life if done right. I'm for it if it makes BW go on longer in addition to helping SC2.
If it hurts BW, don't do it. I'd rather have BW live longer than SC2 get some help.
Oh and he possibility of teams having divisions? If they can have teams with 3 divisions they could make a system in which teams get points for their teams performance in each game and whoever has the highest total at the end wins like a intra-game team prize for that year or something. That would encourage teams to make each scene grow so they can get money and prestige from that. (Just an idea though)
Either way hope this is good for all of eSports, not just SC2.

No one is going to force anyone. That's ridiculous.
If anything, as long as PL keeps its focus on BW, I'll be fine with this. Besides:

OH yes, let's go Starcraft 2! <3

We BW fans are becoming marginalized at every step. Of course we're going to be in defensive postures.
This website is clearly more focused on SCII than BW The majority of us speak English and the English speaking world is clearly more focused on SCII. Hell, we can't even watch our games in English or read about them in English. Our player roster is being marginalized as more and more B teamers and old Bonjwas go over. In almost every global event, BW is being marginalized if not cut right out. Our forum here is a constant battleground, as we now are about 1/2 of the poster count ...
So...yea, now you're telling me that my PL is "meshing," with SCII? I was more than fine with my game, my PL and my website. I have none of these things now, as they were.
I, of all people, don't want to start the war here but the fact is this is why we get pissy. Every, single, time.
Just try and think from our side next time you want to come in here and post like villageidiot or any of his ilk. We don't care that you like your game, we want you to enjoy it. We just want what once was back or at the very least to stop being squeezed in and nudged over to make room for the new puppy.
So, while you see it is "cooperation," and "sharing," we see it as just another in a long line of unfortunate events that continue to shrink and mold our sport alongside something it is not, taking away fans, airtime and players.
Either way, thank you for the news OP. It's always nice to know what is going on in the scene. Thank you. Fans of Brood War need to realize that the only thing that can come out of this is SC2 slowly taking media space from BroodWar and eventually killing it. And one more thing: Why are they even trying to combine this two games, except for name of the game and few units with same name they don`t have anything in common. Mechanics and gameplay is TOTALLY different. Blizzard is making tons of money from SC2 just just because it is sequel to Brood War,and now Kespa (or whoever it is) is trying to do the same. You say it is a great game, you say it`s better then Brood War? Fine. Start from 0 like Brood War did and then come to me in 10 years and we`ll see where will your game be then. It`s pretty easy to just take over from Brood War. But also it`s pretty unjust.

1) This doesn't kill BW. BW is a fantastic game in and of itself. 2) KeSPA doesn't do anything too ridiculous (eg lets their players go to MLG and so forth)/GOM is able to coexist with new Proleagues 3) Teams are able to do awesome things with both games, and the metagame is given a boost to its evolution in both BW and SC2. Unfortunately, if an uninformed observer sees BW and sees SC2, they will see a resemblance, but there is no way they would choose BW on face value (i.e., superficial). The graphics are simply too outdated. This seems like a natural transition away from BW by including both. Eventually they will phase out BW if the fan base doesnt keep growing (and I cant see how it will grow with its better looking younger brother SC2 stealing the spotlight). Bear in mind that it is not that simple in Korea, BW is a sport and a culture, SC2 to them is just a game. E-Sports in general in Korea is struggling, people who switched from BW didn't switch to SC2, they switched to MMO's and shit.
I always thought Korea was sort of a saturated market with not that much room for growth. I was thinking more outside Korea.
