My hopes:
1) This doesn't kill BW. BW is a fantastic game in and of itself. 2) KeSPA doesn't do anything too ridiculous (eg lets their players go to MLG and so forth)/GOM is able to coexist with new Proleagues 3) Teams are able to do awesome things with both games, and the metagame is given a boost to its evolution in both BW and SC2.

Whhaaaaaaattttttttt??? :O
That's freaking crazy!

This is really exciting. Going to be weird seeing progamers practice two games at once though o.o

I hope GOM doesn't get fucked and die now They really worked hard and had a large part in making SC2 as big as it is today. I was really sad when GOM was in limbo for a long time in BW and not knowing if there would be another awesome english tasteless gom tournament.
Plus GOM treats the international community 10x better than Kespa. It will be a shame if Kespa tries to totally take over sc2 like bw and isolate it to korea as much as possible by not allowed koreans to go to international events unless kespa is involved, not have english casters and stupid shit like that I can see them doing.

We BW fans are becoming marginalized at every step. Of course we're going to be in defensive postures.
This website is clearly more focused on SCII than BW The majority of us speak English and the English speaking world is clearly more focused on SCII. Hell, we can't even watch our games in English or read about them in English. Our player roster is being marginalized as more and more B teamers and old Bonjwas go over. In almost every global event, BW is being marginalized if not cut right out. Our forum here is a constant battleground, as we now are about 1/2 of the poster count ...
So...yea, now you're telling me that my PL is "meshing," with SCII? I was more than fine with my game, my PL and my website. I have none of these things now, as they were.
I, of all people, don't want to start the war here but the fact is this is why we get pissy. Every, single, time.
Just try and think from our side next time you want to come in here and post like villageidiot or any of his ilk. We don't care that you like your game, we want you to enjoy it. We just want what once was back or at the very least to stop being squeezed in and nudged over to make room for the new puppy.
So, while you see it is "cooperation," and "sharing," we see it as just another in a long line of unfortunate events that continue to shrink and mold our sport alongside something it is not, taking away fans, airtime and players.
Either way, thank you for the news OP. It's always nice to know what is going on in the scene. I feel sad after reading your post.

wait wait wait
The article states that KeSPA underwent some internal restructuring earlier this month, and though they have not talked to Blizzard or Gretech about the details
So its possible that this won't happen due to Gretech handing out exclusive rights to GOM, as they haven't talked to them yet?

Oh and to people who think KeSPA picking up a game is bad because of their rules etc... don't know what production quality is. KeSPA made the game that "has shitty graphics and should be replaced etc" according to some people look friggin boss for 10 years and counting. I still can't believe people settle for what GOM does when the BW tournaments just look so damn good on TV... 2 words... EVER 07.
Of course if people don't want KeSPA I'm happy for them to keep doing what they've been doing.

This is probably the best move they could take! :D
SC and SC2 together! <3

Awesome! Plz let this be true...

OMG AWESOME

I'm all for two starcraft games in ProLeague - honestly, it would be good for the BW scene because it would bring tons of SC2 fans over, especially if it was in English, and it would be great for SC2 because it would force blizzard to take SC2 to the next level in terms of OP units (a good thing) and excitement, and hopefully things like casting animations for spells, high ground, that make things more fun and heighten the skill ceiling.

Gonna be interesting to see how this ends up!
|
ok sl tbe players at current progaming team in BW are much more better then the current topprogamers at SC2 so how it's going to work koreans own white dudes again total domination of the top a-teamers jangbi/fantasy/flash/bisu/jaedong/ etc. GSL will be something like B group of professional starcraft2 ?

|
I hope we get korean commentators for the sc2 side of proleague.

As long as it isn't detrimental to BW, I'm all for it!! Go KeSPA.
