im a sc2 player and the reason I got back into BW was simply the awesome stories behind boxer, oov, savior, flash, jaedong, etc. oh and especially FBH. it was BW players in the SC2 scene telling the sc2 guys stories of the old days that really took my interest.

BW is not popular in west because we keep getting owned so bad vs Koreans(stomped to death). it discourages people and they want to play sc2 instead because its less mechanically demanding. Lets face it this is the reason sc1 pros left in droves to sc2, not because they believe sc2 is more fun. sc2 is just mechanically easier for foreigners, and aging Korean bw players.

Noone argues this (except mad SC2 fanbois).
But this isn't the point of this thread. This thread is about making BW interesting on a casual level.

No, they left because initially it was something new to try and then stayed because so much more money was available. Kinda hard to justify practicing BW 6-8 hours or more per day only to still be worse than B-team level with only the occasional chance to make some money by having a good run in tournaments like TSL.

I'm pretty confident that if BW had the same amount of money in it as SC2 you would see many foreigners come back and play BW.

I highly doubt there are any foreigners who practice 6-8 hours a day. With the exception of Idra, Ret, and Nony will in Korea.

That is probably the smallest reason, the biggest reason is money, money, money. The root of all evil.

Foreigners moved to SC2 because there was a foreignerscene mit tournaments and prizemoney...korean B-Teamer were thinking about a better chance of being one of the top class player like mentioned before.

Exactly my point.

In SC2 though it might be a little more reasonable to do such a thing since you can actually support yourself if your a good player.

If there was IEM/MLG for BW, I believe many top foreigns would continue to play BW consistently.

There isn't an IEM/MLG because there isn't sufficient spectator interest. We need to fix that first before anything else IMO.

All the remaining players should gather at one spot. Iccup seems dead nowadays, hardly find any practice partners above C.

Edit: Oh and a OLD BW VOD Night #2 would be nice

No doubt.

That said it is still possible to be pretty successful even if you can't win tournaments because even lower place finishes make a decent bit of money, and with the rise of more serious team commitments + streaming revenue its quite possible to make some decent money even if you can't actually win tournaments.

Yes I have the vod on my computer, I can upload it to youtube if it's ok with TL admins.

Edit: I am uploading it as we speak, realizing it will probably be fine with Plexa and thedeadhaji. If not: I'll remove it!

During the Spring Break I was going to put together a short Bisu/ Flash video based on the proleague game and a couple past performance clips. But by the time I had the videos in a format I could edit, the quality had degraded too much
