Presenting the last surviving Protoss in the OSL, Aiur's last hope, Heo Yeong Moo.
Fuck yeah Jangbi. Fuck. Yeah.
JangBi: "I'll defeat Flash and any Zergs in my way, and then win the finals!"
Samsung KHAN's Jangbi has created good opportunities for himself. By making it into the Round of 16 for the 6th time and scoring 1 win, after Jangbi made tiebreakers happen with a 1:2 score, he achieved a perfect victory by cleanly sweeping 2 games and has advanced to the Round of 8. Jangbi, whose opponent is Flash in the Round of 8, expressed his determination, "Because Terrans are good to have as opponents for Protoss, this is advantageous for me," along with, "Since it seems that good luck has been following only me this tournament, I must go all the way to the finals and win."
Q: Your thoughts on surviving this far? A: I feel thrilled. It feels like I've been saved from the depths. After I lost 2 times in the Round of 16 I thought that I was already eliminated, but because Killer achieved 3 wins, I received another chance and when I won yesterday, it felt like I had gained a priceless opportunity. My games in the tiebreakers also went well, so I made more opportunities for myself. I think that good luck is continuing to follow me.
Q: You will meet Flash in the Round of 8. A: Flash is a player that after his debut, has been continuing to put out consistent results. He has received attention ever since he was a practice partner and has been reigning as the best player for over 5 years. But as for me, I have a positive momentum following me. I have an experience where I defeated Flash in the 2005 Courage Tournament finals and acquired qualification to become a semi-progamer. Flash's current skill now is completely different compared to back then, but if I remember that time's memories, then I think that I can also win against Flash in the OSL Round of 8. [T/N: Uhhh Jangbi? Replaying how you beat Flash 6 years ago over and over in your head is nice and all, but- ah screw it, you need all the confidence you can get. It is Flash you'll be playing against, after all.]
Q: Your win-loss record against Flash is? A: I'm behind by 2:3. But for this OSL, there's something like a good momentum following me.
Q: There must have been not that much time to prepare after the tiebreakers were decided yesterday. A: It did honestly feel like there wasn't enough time to practice. After I returned to the practice house yesterday and ate dinner, I rushed to practice. Because there wasn't any time to spare with even showering, I kept on practicing with my makeup still on. The junior teammates helped out a lot; one player watched VODs and analyzed them while other players tested out their strategies in practice, so we worked without even rest. When we concluded practice, it was around 4 AM in the morning. I'm really thankful to them for helping me. [T/N: Wow, no wonder he won 2:0!]
Q: How did your game with Calm go? A: After I scouted Calm's 4Hatch strategy, I thought to myself that I wouldn't lag behind. I invested more time in analyzing the map "Pathfinder" than in analyzing my past games against Calm.
Q: Your strategy was exposed in the game against BaBy. A: I had plans to use a Dark Templar strategy. I thought up of various strategies in my head, but going for continuous Dark Templar drops seemed like a good idea, so I spent time practicing it. I thought that the SCV scout that entered my base had spotted what I was going for, but I decided to carry on with it anyway. After the game ended, I heard Coach DoGGi's confirmation that BaBy's SCV didn't see the Citadel of Adun. Anyway, I had confidence that I would be able to win by going through with it and won.
Q: It's been a long time since you advanced to the OSL Round of 8. A: The last time I passed through the Round of 16 and advanced to the Round of 8 was when I won the tiebreakers and survived. It's been a while since another chance has come this time as well, so I must have a comeback. Killer and soO probably want me to beat Flash in the Round of 8. And then after that they probably think that facing me in the Round of 4 will be an easy ticket to the finals, but oho, I won't make it easy for them. After I beat Flash, I'll defeat any Zergs standing in my path and resurrect myself as the last remaining Protoss hope. [T/N: JANGBI Y U SO BALLER. Holy shit. Dat confidence.]
Q: How are you feeling right now? A: It feels like my mind is already in the finals. But in reality, I've only just passed the Round of 16 tiebreakers. I will definitely exceed the Round of 8 and 4 and go to the finals. After 1 month, please say that Jangbi will be going to the finals. If you keep on saying that, it will become reality. There are some people out there who want me get 2nd place in the finals, but I want to destroy those predictions and win the championship. [T/N: Jangbi and Protoss fans, start chanting that Jangbi will go to the finals if you want to see him win it all! On a daily basis!]
Q: Any last words you want to say? A: I want to thank ByuL, hOpe, and Sharp for helping me out with practice until dawn. I also want to thank the fans that have been supporting me through good and bad times as well.
He sounds so confident, and I think that's good, but I hope I won't get disappointed by a 0-2 against Flash. I want Flash to win but please give us a 1-1 and an epic 3rd set .
Great interview from Jangbi. Glad to see his struggles seem to be finally past him and he is confident once again. If he were playing anyone but Flash I would be rooting for him. If only he were on the other side of the bracket then he could get his 3rd silver.
I had no idea Jangbi once beat Flash in a Courage final. That's a pretty stacked Courage final. Wonder what other big name Courage finals there have been historically.

cant think of it like that, at the time they were both nobodies
But of course you'll change back to SKT when Bisu plays in the MSL, mwahahah
Kiante's grouped with me now? ;O Oh and Jangbi <3 Beat Flash, and get to the finals, along with Hyuk, please? Hyuk or Killer and Jangbi finals! My Life For Aiur! Protoss!
Lol, he beats Baby in tiebreakers with a DT drop into carriers and now all of a sudden he has a chance at beating Flash in a series? Maybe if Flash plays drunk. I sincerely doubt he could beat Fantasy, either. To be fair, he probably has a decent shot at beating any of the mediocre Zergs in the Ro8.
Also, lol at Jangbi bringing up his win against Flash in Courage. I have to agree with the above poster that it's funny how when Jangbi has boatloads of completely unfounded confidence, he gets praised for it, while Flash's well-backed-up confidence gets blasted as "arrogance."
Unless both Flash and Fantasy somehow don't make it to the finals, anything but a Flash vs Fantasy finals will be a one-sided disappointment.
JANGBI!!! GO jangbi go! Jangbi played like an utter baller in the tie breaker games, his strats and execution was superb. Jangbi is going to win this OSL!
If Flash isn't in the finals BW will lose more viewers and then that's bad for E-sports monetary wise since viewership increases when a TBLS member is in the finals. If someone is going to topple Flash, it better be in the finals. Besides, no way he can beat Flash, Jangbi is no Effort.

actually is the other way around , flash winning so much is already boring for the majority of the people , simply because he stomps his enemies in such a way, that isnt fun anymore. a new face winning , especcially a protoss would be good for esports, a new champion is required, and more a defender of aiur, because is the same as the bw campaign, zerg destroyed aiur and protoss are barely able to save shakuras.
even if jangbi beats flash wich lets face it, its not very likely to happen he would get 3-0 raped doggy style by fantasy in the finals the more realistic scenario for semis is
If Jangbi doesnt win the OSL I'm going to have a royal hissy fit.

Yeah to compound what Champion said above me, I have zero intention of watching any semi final or finals with JD or Flash in it, ever again. They've been in like what, 20 of the last 22? Give me a fucking break, a long, decade long break. And I'm a huge Flash fan btw, I just cant stand it anymore.

Trust me, we may say that, but the fact that a KT or big name SKT player is in the finals will boost fanbase even if its boring as hell. Also, this is pretty important, Flash is tied with Nada, if he wins he will be GOAT.
I'm pretty certain Jangbi's "confidence" is more about him trying to psyche himself up than anything else. If you're a player who can't even be confident in your own ability to beat your opponent, then you've already lost. Jangbi's not trying to arrogant or dismissing Flash's skill. He simply wishes to convince himself that he's capable of beating Flash.
As a Jangbi fan, I don't like Jangbi's odds. But at least I see a sliver of a chance he can win unlike your random zerg or even terran. Jangbi's right. PvT is a matchup that favors protoss and he has ridiculous control necessary to pull of cheeses.

We all know what happened when Zero tried convincing himself that he could beat flash.

When Jangbi was in form two years ago he had the best PVT in history and was a match vs any player, any race, period. On top of that he was rumoured to be far better in practice, to the point where Stork in all interviews basically referred to him in awe. Pretty sure if Jangbi is genuinely back in form he has a VERY good chance to beat Flash, given Flash's own form of late.

Pretty much this. Jangbi's confidence in this interview is just an image put up to try to intimidate doubters and make people have more faith in him. But I believe that he'll show everyone and back up his smack talk. Jangbi fighting.

Regardless, I'm glad jangbi's back in form after that longgg slump. Just hope for gg's!
Jangbi hasn't really been good enough to make it deep into individual leagues since late 2009/2010, when he was #1 PvT, and I guess he was lucky enough to avoid stumbling into Flash in PL while he was really bad.

actually cinderella stories are also good for BW, and in this case its jangbi one of the kong line who came back from an ultra extended slump, went through prelims which had a special fightout for the last slot, then this tiebreaker...

Are you implying that Zero would've stood a better chance by telling himself he can't beat flash?

Zero played well against Flash. He just got heavily mindgamed. I wouldn't say his mindset is what hurt him.
Flash hasn't been his usual dominant self of late but the quality of his opponents is notably higher than those JangBi's been wiping the floor with. However, Jangbi is on a 13 game streak vT. Has the Dragon awoken? JangBi! For Protoss!

Prelims do not count for these things. I mean, does it really matter if he's beating Tossgirl, Piano and Sharp?

You know these three have a pact going on. First Stork wins over Fantasy. Then Stork lets Fantasy win one. Then Fantasy let Jangbi win one.

gogo FlaSh
Because if you are confident and have weaknesses, it takes you down to the level of the audience, it shows that you are mortal. But if you are confident and dont have weaknesses, you dont come down to level of audience, and this causes discomfort to them, hence negative reactions.
Eh... as much as I want Jangbi to win his interview was a little too overconfident.
vs baby his game 2 he got such a big lead and then made so many mistakes. The game took way longer than it should have he had such a big opening with dts. He kept getting his 3rd just raped by vults.
game 3 was just a build order win. cute build but still, to bring down flash you're gonna need something more.
All the best to jangbi, I know I'll be rooting for him. He's just very inconsistent.

I'd say he is a more obnoxious version of Stork. Stork is Liu Bei and JangBi is.......JangBi lol

Nice bump by the way. Its quite interesting how confident Jangbi seemed, and with good reason apparently!
Yes he's confident is amazing at first I thought he was just being arrogant but what do you know he won flash, killed calm and baby,Soo and even fantasy .Truely a hero of the protoss race.
