I too think it's a very neat micro game, better than most out there. I've never finished it because 5 marines vs 2 zeals is 100% luck and impossible . Thus I don't know how many levels there are, can someone enlighten me? fish, make sure you release the hard version, I find the thing that makes it hard an extraordinarily good idea.

Try to stand rines with a bit of distance from each other , then focus them on the first zeal and run around with the rine they are attacking =) or 2 rines that is a bit more difficult

put 4 marines together and send one out in front of them where the zeals will follow it just run that one marine around until all the zeals die ~_~

A. It's cheap abuse of AI.

ok bbm ill tell u the secret. focus fire on one zealot. try to select a marine before a zealot gets to him so u can run away after being hit once or twice tops. then u win.

i got 2 more micro maps sorta already.. one is all unsieged tanks control which i have to convert to the new version and the other is the "hard" ver which i just need to rearrange the level order and tweak the time limits which is hard cuz i havent found anyone that kicks the map's ass yet and i sure cant

few advices:
1: reveal the map...help first timers :D (only got 121 on first try...2 goon 3 zel took me 4-5 trys)
2: improve comp ai....for example if comp got an unit far from battle it go fight. and possibly other things. Its very easy to fool that comp by going to right side, half units stick to left.

I like the time idea...advanced life function with a score :D nice

an really advanced ai would be cool, i think ill try that.

off topic but how do u post ur maps in there?

Suggestion: Make it easier/more obvious to start rounds. Attacking the ground is not too obvious. When I make this game in public, every single time I get people asking "wtf, how do u start?". I just spend the first 30 seconds explaining to everyone how to start rounds every game. An easier/more obvious way to start rounds will be better.

Hardest rounds were scvs+marines vs zerglings, and then goons vs goons+zeals

i found all of them pretty beatable. the scv/rines vs zerglings i got that in 2 times and since then everytime in 1 try its just practice that tank only ums sounds cool since im terran and i love to get more tank micro

Actually, the 5 rine vs 2 zealot is very doable, I can do it 100% accuracy, it's standard ranged vs melee, but you have to move more preemptively. Hydra vs Zeal is pretty standard, and the basic strat I employ is the zeals are going to engage the first line, so i move that line back, then i move the line after that backwards, spread them out, and ideally you want to focus fire as well. Just like with the hydras, you know taht the zeals are going to target the marines closest to them, and they will change target based on distance, i.e. if you have two rines, and the zeal is going after the closer one, and you move that one back, he will pause a short bit then engage the one closer after "rechecking" the distances. Hope that kind of helps.

I agree, it should be easier to start rounds, I wasn't really sure what to do for a little bit, it was obvious afterwards but just a little weird.

did anyone finish the 3 zealot + 1 probe vs 3 zealot + 2 probe with ALL of your units intact? i came really close one time but the probe is so hard to keep alive

ive done the 3 zealot + 1 probe vs 3 zealot 2 probe without losing any units before but its just luck for me, i cant do it consistently. take away 1 probe from the comp and then its more feasable to do it with no losses (which is what the hard version currently has)

it doesnt matter if it will happen exactly like that in a real game, only if it makes you micro in ways that u could do in a real game. to some extent you can back off of ling + drone and you can score hits on their lings while reducing hits from their drones. in a real game.

You know what, I would really like a map that teaches macro and micro at the same time, and puts you in real-game situations that you have to deal with.

For ex. you start out regularly with 4 workers and base. You have to mine and build up. 3 minutes into the game you get 6 ling rushed. 4 minutes 8 zealots come. 5 minutes goons. 6 minutes tank push, 6:30 mins lurker drop, 7 mins reaver drops, 8 mins mass hydras, and so on etc., all the way to the highest techs like carriers / bcs / arbs.

This will really keep you on your feet. Will get you better macro and micro, and teaches you how to deal with different kinds of attacks.

There should be a limited amount of resources, and expansions in which you can attempt to take whenever you feel you have enough troops to defend before you run out of minerals.

I know this sounds like art of survival but all the survival games I've played suck and doesn't teach you how to deal with real-game situations.
