Topic name says mostly what I wanna know. Where did he get that nickname from? When I hear commentators talk about him, it sounds to me like its a running gag like he was the "Chuck Norris" of ProGaming who just "crushes everything which moves". Amirite or what?
probs to all the aiur protectors :-D - the [no]ob.toss aka WILD_Weasel
First of all you should post this in the Broodwar section but a mod will move it for you right now.
He is called Mantoss for his style of play, particularly PvT if I remember correctly (although he used Mantoss-esque tricks in PvZ as well). He would charge in with seemingly suicidal numbers without fear and would break contains and pushes perfectly when others would be too scared to move out. He has also always been the more handsome progamer, with a manly physique/face.

Sashin means Death God, a nickname that got latched onto him after his match against Yellow on R-Point* where he did a zealot/DT rush strategy against Zerg and made it work due to his micro. Because of the unexpected brutality of the strategy, and how effective the Dark Templar were (had many many kills), he was nicknamed Death God Toss.

Or at least that's what I think it is.
I believe that game took place on R-Point.
I didn't see the game itself but I saw the highlight of it, and Yellow's natural seemed like an LT or Python natural at 6. Don't remember R-Point that well so you might be right.
Oh young man, I could write a book on this topic but for your sake I will be concise.
Take a look back at past OSL starting groups and tell me, when there were entire tournaments with only one qualified Protoss player, who was the one holding it down?
