Why the fuck do so many people just smurf and play against D?

Why are people who could easily play C+ with their 250 APM insist on newbbashing D games all the time?

Well, not all people with 250 APM are going to be C+... it takes a lot more than just that to get there.
There are some people with APM that high who are legitimate D/D+s.

I don't think you run into all that many C+ guys at the D level. They're probably more like D+/C- and they do it because they don't want to lose :D. You should smurf D- people. I don't play anyone with rank D so there's less of a chance of it being a new smurf account.

250 apm and d? i kinda doubt that. Have to agree tough im a D right now who kinda belongs there skillwise. Have gone 8:8 yet and half of those losses were against people who clearly did not belong on D rank. At least u can always watch the rep afterwards and learn from ur mistakes.

no d's at 250 apm unless spaming

and to answer question once they reace a certain rank and are not destroying every1 and getting some losses they like to restart and get better stats, but there are people like white-ra who and majesty_cz that play like 1000 a season with no restarts, simple reason they wanna get better

most people just like to win and playing vs better people should be good for you since u learn, but it is annoying losing to D players when u know u r a better rank and you are thinking wtf

That's why if you're smart and are trying to climb the ladder, you don't play D's who have like 5-0 or 0-0 stats.

This. There are plenty of C players at D - and they have these sort of accounts.

But you can't see their stats unless you check the website. So how are you to know that the 2000 you are playing is like 12-0.

It's not that I want to bash D newbs, I just don't have time to play SC regularly and just haven't ranked up yet and am still on my way to C.

Jeez man.
It felt like gravity.

People dont get C immediately, they gotta start at somewhere. Maybe its all coincident that you fight so many in a short period of time.

Really? Is this a recent change? Because I remember when ICCup worked for me (up until April) you could see stats AND score.

No way, replay? lol
Also, Im sure a lot of people who might get to D+ or C- (or in your case, C+...) get there and then they start to lose some games or struggle to maintain their rank, so they make a new account to play against people they dont necessarily have to try as hard against.

Use the /stats command. type "/stats [enter name here]" and it'll show their point ranking. Unfortunately, it won't tell you their record, but you can at least roughly figure it out if you're at a major point deficit.

well i guess it comes with the ranking system that players who actually want to bash newbs like me have an easy time doing so. I dont really mind tough since as long as they dont hold back u can get a ton of useful input out of the replay concerning ur timing errors or bo mistakes that might be difficult to understand just by wachting a pro rep.

Haha I wonder if it was me.

I used to smurf D back in the summer when I was C and I'd try to play with as low apm as possible. Me and my friend haemonculus would see how low we could get our APM with still winning a game.

The lowest I ever got was 37 apm and still won the game. Highest ratio game (highest enemy apm vs lowest my apm and still winning) was when I had 50 apm and my opponent was 200 apm zerg.

lol

Yes but not having 250 apm and making good smart decisions is rarer than a mechanics machine it seems.

Well maybe they had a bad record and wanted to restart, or they kept losing and wanted to have some fun and re-build their confidence with some easy games, or maybe they hadn't had an account yet this season and everyone has to start making their way up sometime.

Many people care more about their record than their rating (not that this really makes sense). If you are getting raped in a d vs d game, the good news is, you will pretty quickly undo that deficit in the near future vs other d ranked players... and don't play people significantly below your rank once you get into C-/C so that you don't have to worry about a smurph taking all your points.

I love it when I play one of these "noob-bashers" and beat them (I don't play much so by the time I'm out of D the new season has started). They get really annoyed and start cussing me for playing below my rank.

Or there's the ones that say something along the lines of:

"gg go re?"

I don't think APM is all that accurate. For example, a friend was over the other day to do some studying and he wanted to watch me play a game of SC. I played a lot worse than usual with him watching. I had 170 APM (my high average) that game and 130eapm. I could feel myself doing things a lot slower and yet my APM was still high.

I must have been doing a lot of unnecessary actions because I was anxious. This also caused me to delay important things (like lurkers or hive tech) and every second counts. Therefore, you might have really high APM but all you're really doing is spamming. It also shows that eapm isn't an accurate indicator of your playing ability even though it might be better than apm.

Oh no, another APM bs thread.

Eapm (Effective APM) Is the only viable measure of the player's real speed. And it shows nothing but the speed itself. Fast idiot <<< Smart Panda

also, @ topic: Just because someone is D and could probably hit C or whatever doesn't mean they're noob bashing, probably just climbing the ladder and the fastest way to do that is to play people your own rank.

I totally agree with you on this lol. Everytime I lose like 5 games in a row to D/D+ with like 200-300+ apm i get freaking frustrated and then i just start to play D- people to boost my ego lol. Also at the start of each new season I will never play because 90% of the time I'd be playing with A or Bs who just completely rape the fuck out of me

Well my new accounts have to start somewhere, can't exactly ask iccup to let me start on a C account every time now can I? Also I will often play on a D account before playing on my real account just to warm up. And anyway whats the problem with playing skilled players? It's much better experience than playing against a legitimate D

well you play terran...
even d level terrans have 150 APM, and lots have 200-250

the thing holding me back isnt my macro, its all the formations and stuff that can only be learned through experience

so just keep playing

I love it when I play one of these "noob-bashers" and beat them (I don't play much so by the time I'm out of D the new season has started). They get really annoyed and start cussing me for playing below my rank.

Or there's the ones that say something along the lines of:
"lol, u got lucky noob, I'm B+ high"
"gg go re?"
combat-ex has left the game.

LOLOLOLOLOLOL

Not seeing why this is so funny

You need to go find out who combat-ex is then.

I average 300+ APM with 160+ EAPM, and I haven't made it to D+ yet, so what do you say?

Slow down and think about wtf you're doing with all those actions....

I would, but there's nobody to tell me what to do. Haven't seen any really good Terran guide yet. TvZ is no problem at all, but TvP is totally strange imo

I like it when I play super strong players at low ranks. It's not like I'm gonna win the iCCup ladder so why should I care if I lose? If you get personal satisfaction just from playing bw as a hobby and not taking wins and losses so seriously iCCup is tons more fun.

you know what sucks? people with ranks better or near yours that dodge, because they want to noob bash

so once you hit mid D, only mid level D+ will play you, and like mid level ds will join and then leave which is annoying as hell

almost every D player besides the obvious, obvious complete newbies on iccup had the same or higher apm than me (~180) when i still played a lot

so yeah it's really hard to believe, but at least on ladders everyone and their mother has 200+ now

I don't! I have 100-140ish apm...last I checked about 5% have lower APM than me. 180 APM seems to be a pretty common cutoff for a lot of D/D+ level Terrans though... there's a decent number of people with around 150ish too (they tend to be Protoss or Zerg).

Which is unreal to me, because I consider 140 apm to be really good for me. ;x

And I can hit D+ with a little work. -_-
