The Life and Times of Zerg Boy

I think I'm D+! My record doesn't reflect this but from the people I've been playing I've been doing really well. Quite a few opponents are last-year-D+ers and I've actually won versus a few of them. People who are consistently D I normally beat. Anyway, until I actually GET D+ I'll still rank my sunkens at D.

Stop Pokin' Me!

I played Pokebunny again. He is a worthy enemy. He's certainly better than me and I've had yet to take a game from him that was some sort of standard. He wanted to show off his cutting edge skills so he played me in a recent and fairly popular build. I bet you'll be able to guess it...

It starts out with what I must describe as an interesting scouting maneuver.

Oh my god it got SCV juice on me!

I respond with a some how better strategy.

If this was a pro game the announcers would be screaming.

I knew what was up. I just had the feeling he was gonna use that evil build. The late game 2 gate of terran.

Real Terrans use M&Ms... K?

Anyway, it starts off with hilarious disaster.

"The first vulture is used to keep the Zerg contained."

Anyway, it worked I'm a noob and expoing was the last of my priorates. I'd rather have fun banging the zerglings against the supply depots and making explody noises.

Bam bam! BAM BAM!

So, still not expoing I'm deadly terrified of the mass vultures that don't exist. Even more so having them run by my natural rather than say, dropping like the BO requires.

But I'm almost D+ rank! Why can't I be a sunken!

GAH! This is when the wheels kinda come off the wagon. I was so ahead and I squandered my potential with booze and women. This vulture drop included 4 vultures. Total kills: 24. 6 Drones, 18 Lings.

Alright, bring it on!

This game starts to hurt. See, I'm so used to having people tell me to mass mutas and lings vs. mech... So I did. What I don't know is that you can't do it off of 2 bases, no upgrades, and when the enemy has valkyries.

But when noobs try to use them they just die!

Anyway, it's GG. I'm too much of a noob to try to make my own counters to new builds. Although, were I playing perfectly I think the answer lies somewhere in really early defilers and possibly queens for broodlings and ensnare.

The Nublet

This next guy I play is a nub.

It's the truth. Barack Obama says so.

He's so nub that I thought I'd do a even nubier build vs. him. That is the ONLY way I lost. Don't believe the nay-sayers. He IS NOT better than me.

Those lines are lings. They move so fast you can't seem them with the naked eye. Much like my hands when I play Starcraft.

I'm not even sure what I was doing. It was somewhere in between 3 hatch lings and a ling rush. Except it came after he moved out... Yeah...

But he's got a surprise! Shhh it's a proxy hatch!

Ever since I watched the TSL I make fun of the build Dinot used: Hydra range slow drop rush into the main. I thought it was clever, but also so crack-headed. Somehow Cynan got it in his head that I was doing the same thing with speed lings rather than a proxy hatch.

It's slow AND speedy at the same time! Like taking a shot of cheep Vodka and Jolt.

I forgot to mention that Cynan's a nub I think. Anyway, I know what he was thinking when he saw what happened.

"Did you see that?" "See it? I did it!"

No units in your base? That's cool...

"Where is our air support?" *Creepy panting and pointing upwards*

Anyway, despite his nubbish tendencies I fail harder.

If this was Starcraft 2 I would auto-surround AND having nothing to do in my base!.

It was so GG. I kept him in his base for a while after, but it didn't matter. I didn't follow up right. I had the money to be teched, but I'd rather make more lings!

Afterthoughts

In all seriousness though CynanMachae is a very cool dude. He plays well and is a very nice guy. If you run on to him in iCCup or something say, "Hi" for me would you? Same deal with Pokebunny, but I don't know him well enough to blatantly make fun of him in a blog... Yet...

You guys know the drill. Team liquid fighting! Here's to a great NonY TL-Attack on Saturday!

P.S. Holy shit. When I went to upload these images to Photobucket the "random" theme assigned to the album was the exact picture from my desktop... I didn't get this picture from Photobucket. Scary!

There was proxy sunkens

3-4, not sure, but they didnt resist the wrath of the m&ms. And I'm the BM now?

Oh and LK, I didn't check the replay, but I'm pretty sure you had attacked earlier with mass ling + that proxy hatch you'd have done way much damage since I went 14 CC and never scouted the proxy <<
