From my understanding depression most often comes from a discrepancy between what you believe your life is supposed to be and what you are currently experiencing. If that's the case for you the solution is to find what bothers you and change it right away as radically as you can. It's just as simple as finding every little problem you have and fix it in the way you feel (not think) you should. Theraphy never helped me, I was very close to kill myself at a certain point but ultimately decided that I'd rather live my life how I wanted, even if I had to do lots of dumb mistakes and mess up things and relationships, and fuck the rest. Meditation helps a ton with balancing hormones and release anxiety, you might want to have a look. It makes you feel so good and relaxed.
