There's a tradition down here in Australia that those finishing Year 12 will go away for about a week to somewhere close to a beach and get drunk + party the entire time. This is called schoolies. Having finished Year 12 this year, friends and I decided that we would go on schoolies, but we'd add our own distinct twist to it.
We were going to turn it into a LAN party. This is the setup that we ended up going with at the house. There's another computer to the right of the right most one in the picture.
This was an entire week without internet except for the crappy 3G tethering we had with our phones, and away from parents etc. Obviously we brought up alcohol because somewhere in our non-distinct plan of ours we were going to play drunk games (This never really happened).
Shogun 2 Total War Napoleon Total War CoD4 Brood War TF2 Assortment of singleplayer games Golden Eye (Someone brought an N64)
Given as I was the only person who'd ever played Brood War before, they decided to make it a bit fairer for everyone else by taping my left hand to my leg. It didn't really help, I still beat them 6v1 because I understood the concept of macro :D
Four of us decided to conquer Japan in Shogun 2 Total War. It took us about 2 days but we did it in 2 separate games, that was a lot of fun.
The full week of gaming was also rounded out by a trip to the beach and the pool, along with an encounter with a bee that would've been worth 50exp had we actually managed to defeat it, and also with a good deal of powergaming in D&D, as we were preparing for Castle Ravenloft, and managed to get through one encounter. (Note: Someone good at maths powergaming in 3.5 is actually scary to watch).
I could write out a lot more, but I won't. Merely, I'll say that this was the best schoolies ever to happen ever, and would highly recommend nerdies to anyone in Australia finishing Year 12 next year.
Oh, and I'll leave you with this, Karate Chops (Ninja Slaps) in Golden Eye when 2 people have run out of ammo.
This, my friend, is the essence of The Bachelor Pad. With more drugs and women. Essentially you're all supposed to get part time jobs for 15-20 hours a week each, and mooch off each others' paychecks in order to pay rent and buy food. You typically have a lot of spending dough left over which goes toward drugs, barhops and ladies. It is the essence of the dream of western males aged 20-30. Give it a shot man. Sounds like you have the proper buddies to get it going.
I would, if it weren't for the fact that that many high power computers running constantly for a week probably ended up being more expensive in power bills than the rent XD
Haha. Yeah probably. But man if I can work a minimum wage job and come out ahead, you guys should be able to have part time jobs and come out 2k+ ahead each month... that's gotta be worth something! FREEEEEEEDOMMMMMMMMMM!

I'm going to do this end of highschool year, except with less drug money and more money put to women, unless of course my friends pay for me, then its all good. Plan goes as such so far 1. acquire friends (check) 2. acquire finished highschool diploma (1 more year) 3. acquire summer job (1.5 more years) 4. acquire currency (1.5 more years) 5. acquire women (T.T, gotta work on this one in my ghetto ass city) 6. ??? 7. Profit (like a boss)
We did a similar sort of thing for our schoolies, instead comprising of two xbox 360's system linked with 8-player halo. Oh and a lot of drunk games played ^_^
