Today I wanted to talk about why I lose games. These are not all the mistakes I make by any means, but ones I feel that are causing the most loses for me.
The first one being simply forgetting a pylon/supply blocking. This can easily botch any build and cause you to outright lose in any matchup, ESPECIALLY PvP. I've been trying to keep an eye on my food count to prevent this, but sometimes I get caught up in micro and simply forget. Some games I can go the whole game without supply blocking at all. Then in some games I'll mess up the timing on my second or third pylon. This really is not a mistake I should be making anymore. However, it remains a common mistake I make in games.
The second reason I lose games would be due to poor scouting. Most the time I'm able to get a general sense of what build they are going. What I miss a lot is where the cheese is happening, proxy pylons, and hidden bases. I've only been cannon rushed a few times but I can only remember one game where I was able to hold it off. My scouting has improved dramatically since gold to where I can now at least sense the cheese coming. However I seem to have a real hard time finding and reacting quick enough to the exact chees against zerg I've gotten in the habit of checking common 3rd expansions, but against terran and protoss I seem to simply not do it. I hope to correct that asap.
The third reason would be poor decisions. One game I scouted 2 racks pressure against me on close spawns on metal. I messed up and started a second zealot instead of a stalker. Canceled the zealot then I started a sentry. Realizing my mistake I canceled and started a stalker. 2 bad decisions in a row surely spells fail. 3-4 marines show up at my ramp and all I have is a zealot with my stalker at %50. I lost too many probes and then lost the game a little bit later. I'm Sure there were other things I could have done better in this game but I think fumble with the first stalker ultimately lost the game for me. Sometimes I also attack in really bad positions. Against zerg I'll just attack on creep if I feel like I can kill them. I'll just march my ball right up and there and then a swarm of units engulf my ball and just obliterate it.
What are some of the mistakes you guys make the most?

Your third mistake is the one problem I have been working on for a while now I also forget overlords or sometimes I even miss my pool (/rage) so those are mine =D

i lose to muta ling usually but ive been getting alot better at making zergs not go down that path. terrans are easy cause all they do is mass bio.....every....single.....fen....game. anyways, pvp is always a toss up unless the person you play is not that good. usually comes down to micro and not getting supply blocked.

I do make some pretty hilarious mistakes sometimes, making an extra ovie super early to delay everything. Forgetting ovie at 9 - "NP I'll do extractor trick", /forgets to cancel extractor. I've done double baneling nests, double infestation pits. I'm sure theres more, oftentimes the most entertaining games are the ones where you do something silly and then scramble like crazy to comeback.

I also lose most the time when a zerg starts to hit that critical number of mutas but not too many zergs go for muta anymore. Most the time its just that roach/hydra mix.
I agree also on what you say about PvP. Seems like mostly a coin flip at this point for most people. I've only seen 2 games in PvP so far where my opponent went something other than 4 gate or cheese. Maybe a few quick robo plays here and there but mostly 4 gate or cheese. I've been wanting to try out more phoenix play. One guy went fast expo into phoenix on me and it worked. I reacted to the FE with colossi, thinking I would be able to out range the cannons and draw his army out. He only had a couple phoenix when I hit his natural but I wasn't able to push any further into base with 6 cannons at the front. Blink probably would have been a better choice looking back.

Be decisive, even when making the wrong decision. Rather than question yourself in the middle of the game, simply go with it and figure out why it did or didn't work. At any level, there will be many times where things simply work in that situation because you were decisive and the same goes for the reverse. The most common example of the latter is trying to break out of a contain or break a siege line and then halfway through second guessing yourself and pulling back, thereby losing too many units to recover.
+ Show Spoiler +Run-on sentences, while bad, are not a cause of your loss!
Simply do it.

Against Terran I lose because of either 2 things: 1. accidentally walk into a shiTON of tanks 2. Get dropped while attacking and main gets obliterated (-_-)
Against Protoss it's easier b/c protoss players usually go for collosus, but I would lose b/c I either didnt put enough pressure early on to make them uncomfortable or I didnt make enough vikings. Force fields are a PITA too.
Zerg is my worst matchup of all time. Baneling muta always kills me b/c theyre attack with a 200 army to my 190 army and I can never drop or anything b/c of the muta's. I always feel uncomfortable with the zerg b/c they have map control with lings, and there is always the threat of them swooping into my base with muta's.

I have done the ol' forgot OV and did the extractor trick too. My mistake there is sometimes I forget the make the OV again!!! I don't realize for a good 30 seconds. Pretty silly.

+ Show Spoiler +I'm terrible at writing as you can tell lol. I think run-on sentences are a key to my victory

Ok. Here is a outside of the battle field type of mistake that translates to every facit of the battle field. I am realizing that when I go on good winning streaks where I go as high as 17 out of 20 wins, I am only playing a few games a day. In those games, I am mentally sharp.
Then, other days, I will be not so sharp, but itching to play. I lose one and want to get a win right away. I end up losing 4 or 5 in a row. This game is so addictive and wins are such a high that I go chasing after that high like a drug addict--disregarding all good sense and rationality.
The more I lose, the more I want to get right back in. I go with very little sleep b/c it is usually late at night that I have time.
That is my biggest mistake. When I look at my replays, I see that I am better than that. In those games I just had piss poor execution. In fact, this is the reason I am typing this message. It is because I just lost 4 in a row. I am feeling really mentally clouded and even my typing fingers right now are jittery. So, instead of going on that down spiral, I came here to debrief.
It kind of suxors that this is not a game where you can just go play anytime you want. You have to be sooo sharp that I can only have enough mental sharpness for a few good games. And I have to save up that mental sharpness and prepare for it. I can't just sit down for a quick mindless play at it.
I wish there were other things as fun as SC2 but that can be done mindlessly. Heheh.
cheers.
It's like I have to have this whole big plan (including planning a restful sleep, etc) just to have a good game. So, what the fuk am I supposed to do when I have INSOMNIA!!! ?!?! hehehe.
doh!
