Bellsprout - Routes 5, 6, 24, 25, 31, 32, and 36

Caterpie - Routes 2, 24, 25, 30, and 31, Ilex Forest, National Park, Bug-Catching Contest
Heracross - Headbutt trees
Poliwag - Routes 16, 22, 28, 30, 31, 35, 43, and 44, Ruins of Alph, Ilex Forest, Ecruteak City, Violet City, Mt. Silver, Viridian City, and Blackthorn City (Fish)
Chinchou - Routes 26 and 27, New Bark Town, Union Cave, Olivine City, Pallet Town, Vermilion City, Cinnabar Island
Wooper - Route 32, Ruins of Alph, Union Cave (night)
Natu - Ruins of Alph
Growlithe - Routes 8, 36, and 37 (Day)
Eevee - Gift from Bill
Miltank - Routes 38 and 39 (Day)
Teddiursa - Dark Cave

Diglett - Diglett's Cave
Larvitar - Mt. Silver (Day), Rocket Game Corner

Any other suggestions? I'm definitely not as diligent as TheAntZ, so I won't be making a huge Pokemon thread, but it should be fun for me at least...

You got to be joking. What is the point of this challenge? You basically picked all of the good pokemon out there for G/S, including the two pseudo-legendaries (Dratini, Larvitar), best Ghost pokemon (Gastly), best Bug pokemon (Heracross), best Fire pokemon (Growlithe), second-best Normal pokemon (Teddi; the best is probably Snorlax). Also Bellsprout and Poliwag are two very good lines of pokemon with three stages of evolution. Wooper and Chincou are very good because of their typing, Natu and Miltank are versatile with decent statistics in every category.

There is really no point in this challenge if you are allowed to evolve those species. All you need is a Dragonite with Dragon Dance to sweep through everything. If that fails, you can also breed a Larvitar with Dragon Dance (thanks to the availability of the Dratini family).

Even if you do not allow evolution of those species as well as for your starter, this will still be quite easy because Miltank, which doesn't have any evolutions, is a very good pokemon. She has high speed, high HP, high (s)def, and a usable attack. Just make her learn Strength and utilize her STAB. If she is low on HP, she can even heal herself.

Dragon Dance doesn't exist in GSC.

I would be impressed, however, if you:
1) remove Miltank and Heracross
2) disallow any evolutions
3) only one pokemon per species

NOTE: It seems that none of the pokemons you listed can learn Fly (not considering their evolutions).

I think those are pretty reasonable choices. Alot of them are powerful, but have gimmicks that make them weak early in the game. Dratini comes pretty late in the game and doesn't evolve to Dragonite until level 60-something(?). Larvitar doesn't come until after the Elite 4. Gastly has to be traded to evolve into Gengar, which may not be possible. Arcanine is good stats-wise but has a really shitty learnset, especially without breeding.

Heracross is the only one I would consider a bit imba for this, but it's also one of favourite pokes so I won't complain ^^

This, and also, how is he ever going to get half of those pokemon you listed early enough to make a difference? Seriously?

Dratini and Larvitar are definitely pretty big helps. Dratini + starter is probably enough to take out all of the E4, especially if you have Heracross too.

Haunter is pretty shitty so unless he can trade and isn't emulating (...which would suck, grinding on a gameboy) that won't make a big difference.

Growlithe he won't need because of starter ;_;

Bell & Poli: I'm not sure if you can buy the evolution stones in GSC (Goldenrod)? Or is that Celadon only, or just not at all? If you can buy them then lol Typhlosion/Victreebel/Poliwrath/Dragonite/Heracross/Ursaring @ elite four, beast combo

Lanturn is my favourite second-gen pokemon

You're really stretching with Natu there hehe

GSC has Kanto region. So... half the game, yea.

I think you guys are overestimating my ability to keep Pokemon alive lol. Also, Ursaring/Dragonite don't come until right before the Elite Four, and I don't really have the patience to level them up and evolve them so quickly. And Larvitar comes much later. I can't evolve to Gengar, and the Kanto half of the game is really small compared to the Johto half.
Also, I really don't mind doing this without Dratini/Larvitar.

For GSC, no, you can't buy the stones.
You get moon stones randomly.
You get Sun-stone from the bug contests.
You get fire/leaf/thunder/water either from hidden places or from that guy where Bill's house is in Red.
However, you can duplicate fairly easily in GSC(tiny bit harder in Crystal) sooooooooooooooooo

How about no evasion boosting skills as well? Just 'cuz it's way too easy to power out a bunch of Double Teams and just face rape whatever else can come at you. I would say stat boosting at all, but who wants to say no to Swords Dance?

George just solo'd sprout tower, and I caught Juicy on Route 31 and then leveled him up a bit in Dark Cave while searching for a Teddiursa. I never found one though .

Alright about to take on Falkner. My lineup:
George (Quilava) L16
Juicy (Bellsprout) L12

If you make it with at least four level 45's to the leet four, I'd say you can't level them any more until you've entered the leet four place and the doors slam shut. This is to discourage you from getting a level 85 tyflosion before facing them. (This kid I knew did this in g/s -_-, tyflosion one shot struggled through a lot of them.)

So to clarify, max level 45 before facing leet four.

I've done it before. It's rough early on, but once you get to buy TMs it's not that bad, and all you do is just overlevel after this. It's not worth the trouble imo

I would be impressed, however, if you:
1) remove Miltank and Heracross
2) disallow any evolutions
3) only one pokemon per species

NOTE: It seems that none of the pokemons you listed can learn Fly (not considering their evolutions).

Enjoy using Heracross when it only learns Megahorn level 50+, and your best STAB for the entire game is Brick Break.

Secondly, Gastly/Haunter absolutely blows ingame until it learns Shadow Ball... except for the fact that Shadow Ball is *physical* in GSC. That's right, enjoy your physical Haunter, which means you'll be relying on HMs the entire game to do any damage. Gastly/Haunter's only attacking move is... Night Shade for the most of the game until you get some nice TMs.

Larvitar comes way too late to be any use, unless you want to use that to beat Red. Dratini? By the time you get Dratini, Dragon Rage is no longer broken and it's honestly pathetic. I'm hoping Saracen gets the Extreme Speed Dratini, which he gets at the last gym of the game and remember that Dratini has the steepest leveling curve in the game.

Fire Pokemon suck. Have you even looked at their movepool? And Teddiursa being the second best normal type? I don't know where you get that from honestly.

Honestly... in the end, this is for fun. I don't know why you came in all of a sudden and started bitching about how Saracen shouldn't have fun

I've done it before. It's rough early on, but once you get to buy TMs it's not that bad, and all you do is just overlevel after this. It's not worth the trouble imo

Brick break doesn't exist either, lol...
There really isn't a STAB attack because I told him not to use TMs (that's if he listens).
If he doesn't, (I'll kill him JK), he can get... rocksmash... lol. And dynamic punch? But the best physical attack is like strength or take down for him until megahorn at level 54, lol.
And there was an extreme speed Dratini? What? I never got it in gold. And I think I missed it in my crystal. >_< *CRAP*

You cant get it in gold, and you can go back anytime to get it in crystal. Go to the Dragon den, Take the old man's quiz and tell him how much you love pokemon. Leave the cave, and talk to him again.

You've truly inspired me. I don't want to fight with my DS emulator to try to get HG/SS to work. I might get a real DS for Black/White though
