I've quit this game uncountable times, but somehow I always come back. I think its all the friends that i've made over the years, and the hunger of my competitive spirit. I've had a lot a LOT of fun; but the last couple years have been the best. I improved an incredible amount thanks to my coach and friend yosh. I played a ton of games, and with each one I would fill the holes in my game.
People who know me know that im a christian, but I might not always have acted like it. You see, this game always seems to distract me from whats really important. Some people can play the game casually, not everyday, just an hour here and there; but thats not the case with me.. I guess for me its always been all or nothing. Its been my kryptonite, its hurt my relationship with God. Just like a relationship with a friend a relationship with God only grows and is sustained by spending time with him. Each time I get back into this game I backslide; Sure it happens gradually, but next thing you know im not praying anymore, im not studying Gods word, and im falling into other sins again such as pornography.
I've quit this game many times for this reason, but I always get tempted back. "oh I can just play casually like 1 game here or 1 game there." That never worked. I REALLY don't want to quit, I love this game and all of the people. But deep down God is telling me that this is what I need to do, and im going to obey. I won't pick-up SC2, I have the beta and it is highly addicting as well..
My last games will be in the swansong tour, I think I play Goody in a week or something and if I win that then I play IdrA in the ro4.
I know that there aren't many Christians on TL, but im praying that there are a few who can relate with me. And im sure lots of people will have negative things to say, but please refrain; this is what I believe to be the right choice.

I accept your christian choice, but I cannot accept you leaving your beta unused. That's just cruel to those who don't have one

Ranged, I've known you for quite a while. Despite how some people used to say you were bad I never thought so (because I was fucking terrible as well and still am rofl). Gonna miss you man. It was nice meeting you irl.

As an Objectivist who detests irrational and delusional religious people on principle, I can only give you the advice I would rationally give to anyone: Simply do what makes you happy.
While you, being religious, would disagree with what I'm about to say, I will say it anyways. The meaning of life is to be happy and to pursue happiness. While it can be seen as a shame that you feel BW interferes with your ability to deride happiness from other sources, it will improve your life if you simply accept that it isn't exactly what you want out of life. Don't quit with the idea that you're giving up, quit with the idea that speed bumps are a part of life and there really is no destination. Simply the enjoyment of going for a ride.

You get closer to God by doing the things you love.

Hello man. You can be Christian even tho you play games and don't pray all the time. It's enough that you believe, right?

My key was from Yosh, I won't give it away because he may have another friend that he'd like to give it to, or maybe he'd like to keep it himself.

This strikes me as profoundly sad. I suppose that's something negative to say.
Still, if you feel that this decision will help you achieve a fulfilling and happy life (here on this earth), then it is likely a good decision. All the best.

you can be christian and play sc. if you exercise self-control, you can prevent yourself from spending too much time on games.

You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror. (James 2:19)
Yes, faith in God is good, but it takes more than just believing.. Obeying the demands of the Holy Spirit and being willing to be to go and to do his will are also very important. When I know what is right, and I don't do it, and when I know what is wrong, and I still do it, I sin. The only way for me to escape my sinful nature is to spend time in prayer with God, and by reading his word (the bible). That's not possible when im spending ALL of my free time on BW. And many well say "yes well just play a little bit." I've already tried that, so now I need to cut if off completely.
Hope this helps..

I believe that you can't go wrong with allowing yourself to pursue something you're passionate about. God can even help you achieve your goals in the world of SC and SC2.
Maybe take a break and think about it before you abandon it completely.

As a Christian I respect your choice. Everyone has a weakness or something that can take you away from God. Only you know what yours is.
Romans 14:14 But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for him it is unclean.
Romans 14:5-8 One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. He who regards one day as special, does so to the Lord. He who eats meat, eats to the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who abstains, does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God. For none of us lives to himself alone and none of us dies to himself alone. If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord.
I'm actually quite jealous/admiring of your willpower to do this thing for the Lord. I wish you good luck, and may God be with you!
