Yesterday at night I bought Razer Carcharias Gaming Headset for 70$ from Dell.com
I had a 50$ gift card that I had gotten from buying a new computer from Dell. Unfortunately, I wanted to hurry-up and watch the Olympics and forgot to use the gift card.
I read that I can cancel my order if it is still processing, which it was. I called the costumer service number and had to talk to a machine for about 10 minutes until it lead me through a number where another machine told me it is too late. It led me to a website where they tell you what you're supposed to do when you want to cancel an order. You have to call the number I just called, it's an infinite loop of confusion.
So I'm wondering, is there a way to pay with my gift card AFTER the order has been payed for and shipped?
Ps. I know this blog is amazing.

I'm not familiar with Dell custserv, but when I'm in this situation I usually call and ask if I can have the gift card applied to the order and get refunded the value of the card.
It saves both of you the trouble of canceling the order and re-ordering with the card. Most of the time this works, though at times you might get some new representative that has no idea what you're trying to do and insists you need to cancel and reorder, since that's all s/he knows how to do.
Obviously if the order is already shipped there might be complications, but by and large this works.

I've been on-hold for about 10 mins now. Been passed on to about 4 different machines

My advice? Take the hit, and buy something else with that gift card.
