Ron Paul 2012. I hope Hannity doesn't run. Will turn the whole thing into a circus show....
|
Won't get that far even if he does run. That's what primaries a re for :-)
|
Considering the people we already have in politics, I think he would be a serious upgrade.
|
If he does run, Colbert should run aswell and show him how to make a good tv show, as well as run a politcal race
|
i'm not well informed on hannity, but from the little exposure i have, i've always wondered if he's sincere. at least if he runs for president i'll have that question answered

edit: it would be really nice though if ron paul had been more able to influence the GOP during his primary run, specifically the parts about "military spending counts as wasteful spending too you know" and "terrorists hate us for our meddling, not for our freedoms"
Ron Paul is a laughingstock within the GOP because the powers that be want him to be. He represents far too great of a threat to the military industrial complex

He has no chance of the popular vote after all he's done on his show.
Candidates need to walk the middle road, and Hannity represents an extreme.

On the other hand, to win a party primary you tend to cater to the base elements of your party. You only have to play to the moderates once the primaries are over. That being said, enough people in the primaries usually can pick the candidate who the conventional wisdom thinks has the best shot in the general.
God told michelle bachmann to run for congress and she said the same thing hannity is saying about a presidential run. Clearly god is deciding whether or not he wants to see comedy.

I'm quite convinced if Ron Paul decided to run as an Independant that he would have a serious shot at winning. Not like it would matter much, but at least he could veto all the crazy ass spending and put a stop to congress...because frankly I don't see Congress getting 2/3rds to override a veto.
He could also refuse to nominate Department bureaucrats, etc.
We'll see...it's been done before when both parties blew (as they do know). Ross Perot ring a bell?
