I really hope he gets better. He's huge for the game and 99% of his games are great to watch. Taking a long break would be rough though. I don't know if he would be able to go back into BW depending on how long the break is. I remember on April Fools there was a joke about him switching to Protoss... he would lose a lot of fans I bet, but it would relieve some of the strain on his wrists.

I was watching the GSI finals before, and Tasteless was like Stork just got beat on a Carrier map by a 15 year old genius... it left a huge impression on me the first time I watched it. For the sake of BW, Flash needs to get well.

He has had his wrist checked on previously and there has never been any nerve issues or mention of possible CTS. If anything, it would be Flash's left hand that would get CTS since most of his APM is done with his left hand. I don't know if Flash has previously gotten cortisone injections, but that will probably be the first thing they do seeing how severe his condition is. Hope the best for Flash. Would hate to see another Terran Bonjwa fall to this I think in one of his interviews he said that he had gotten cortisone shots? I'm not sure though, might have been just a comment in that thread.

Flash says right here that he does not have nerve damage, so how can it be carpal tunnel? Carpal tunnel happens because of pressure on the median nerve. It's not nerve damage, and it can be helped through surgery by severing the transverse carpal ligament that crosses it at the wrist to relieve pressure. If it's not treated, though, it can lead to atrophy of the muscles in the hand and other nastiness. Just today I realized I might have it myself... it hurts like hell. I really sympathize with him, being expected and wanting to perform well. I have a big recital coming up in a couple weeks (I play classical guitar) and I couldn't even practice today because of the pain :/ I hope Flash gets better soon!

But that wouldn't make any sense ^_^ But yes, he is stubborn and most likely won't retire. actually, flash has said in interviews that he would immediately retire when he feels that he can no longer perform to his standards (or something to that effect).
