Seriously?
I know some people get excited in the shower, but actually going so fast that you break your wrist is worthy of some kind of world record.

These kind of injuries are no joke. There should really be more awareness in the entire PC gaming community about the dangers of this. Like real sports, you have to take care of your body in esports.

Euronyme, I can't believe you said that.

High-five.

No seriously, I don't think that that's a good thing to joke about.

Of all the progamers for this to happen to, why did it have to be the best player of all time? He could win a diamond mouse ffs!

OK maybe his career's not over, but it's worrisome.

look at Flash's arm

That is just tape to move the muscle to a better location (that is what it is supposedly doing), it is used quite often in other sports. Hopefully he can recover, it would be a shame to see him have to stop playing at his age...

Maybe while he is recovering, KT will have him coach the other players more, especially BarrackS...

I do, and I really mean this, I REALLY hope he gets better, otherwise it'd be TERRIBAD for eSports.

I'm not too worried. I know Flash will recover soon. I just hope he doesn't overwork himself right now and exacerbate it.

because he overworked himself. The number of hours he put in to win the golden mouse and golden badge is simply unimaginable.

Well the thing is, so did other people. I think I've heard that Jaedong practices the longest among TBLS (in that Bisu-Jaedong interview) as a general rule (also heard Flash practices an insane number of hours when preparing for SLs). It's just incredibly sad that the injury had to happen, and to Flash of all people, because we probably get robbed of a couple years of his peak. Hopefully not, because Flash seems to be the type willing to go through pain just to excel. He just needs to maybe tone things down especially in PL cause at least in Starleagues he can prepare really efficient builds.

Might as well bring an update to something that has blown rather out of proportion... I do apologize for being the bearer of grim news.

KT Rolster's Flash is currently receiving intensive care for his right arm.

When Flash received an MRI scan on the 24th, the results confirmed that there were abnormal symptoms in his right forearm, wrist, and shoulder. The hospital that he went to diagnosed that Flash's right shoulder's ligaments were damaged, and that his forearm and wrist's muscles had bunched up together.

After Flash's diagnosis results came out, KT Rolster decided to receive intensive care from JDI sports rehabilitation specialized hospital. JDI is a famous professional health care corporation that specializes in treating injuries sustained by sports players in the knee, shoulder, and back areas.

Although Flash is in a situation where long term treatment is necessary for him, because he must participate in the Proleague regular season and post season along with the individual leagues immediately, he will be receiving intensive care for a short period of time. KT has chosen what the medical industry calls a proactive treatment therapy method, and Flash was seen on the 25th at the game stadium with taping on his right arm.

KT's manager Lee Ji Hoon stated, "If we exclude Flash's schedule during the Proleague regular season, he has time reserved for concentrating on treatment," and, "We'll see how the treatment goes and see whether or not if we'll send him out in Proleague."

Source: http://esports.dailygame.co.kr/news/read.php?id=46166

So it looks like we'll seeing a lot less of Flash in Proleague... Which is a good thing for the sake of his health.

I'm sure we all know flash's twitch. That was because he didn't get enough sleep. He is the only player i've seen with a twitch too. Even just last year, in the korean air osl finals, he started twitching. I think this is just a case of "the higher you soar, the harder you fall."

Theres a reason why there is someone like Flash and someone who wallows in the B-team. He put in a monumental effort to get where he is now. I'm sure TBLS all put in similar hours..but we should be very impressed and respectful of what flash has done. Preparing for and winning even one starleague is really really hard...being able to sustain #1 for a long time like Flash just shows the work ethic and passion he has. The only problem is that he has pushed himself too far.

As an icon of esports and the fact that his name carries enormous viewership and interest in progaming, Flash has a responsibility to make sure that he can continue to play safely. If the coaching team at KT had any common sense they would force him to stop playing for a while so that his wrist recovers. I hope flash can recover his health fully.

Fuck man, another sad news for BW. If KT have any sympathy and smart, they should repair the Ultimate Weapon before any further use!

urg.... flash's problem sounds extremely serious.

Progaming team should play very close attention to the health of their players - maybe force two minutes of exercises in between games. As the guy who brings tape and ruler to his booth I am sure he already play on a rather ergonomic setup.

I hope the individual leagues can accommodate him a bit and allow him to play near the end of the schedules giving him more time to rest. It will be terrible if his symptoms worsen.

Wonder if someone on TL will make him a get well card.

how did this come about? is it a result of a natural weakness or something, or from poor ergonomics?
