Wow, GREAT JOB BLIZZARD!
I'm glad these maps, on first glance, actually look fairly "standard" unlike the maps they showed us last season which all looked glaringly bad (except for Shattered and maybe Backwater Gulch).
I'm still disappointed in how their Normal maps still seem a bit small, but I guess I will have to actually play on them to see how big they are.
Hurray for no close positions! That is, not super close, at least. Not like Shatterd or Metal. Great job!
The 1v1 Maps look definitely playable, and the team maps look great too (shared bases ftw!)
The first two remind me a lot of Backwater Gulch. These maps are another step in the right direction. It's kind of silly to have to auto-veto Delta Quadrant/Slag Pits for Zerg so I hope those two maps are rotated out.
I'd love to say 'lets wait and see how these pan out' but all the 1v1 maps look particularly underwhelming
hopefully they give us 4 more allowed downvotes to go with the 4 new maps.
they all look terrible. except maybe the 4th one. sigh, just add the gsl maps. we're going to see pros not even ladder anymore cause the map pool is so bad and different than tournament maps.
So, I open the first map, read the description and the first thing I read is: "This map features close rush distances in most start locations"???
Wtf Blizzard ...
i dont like the decision of just updating the map pool. get some gsl maps in please... i like that every map has rocks that open new attack paths seems to be the most important feature
Shifted sky and the last one looks decent. Shifted sky i hope will be the new xel naga.
2 rush maps, a "normal" map where only the natural is defendable from siege tanks, and a "macro" map where you can't take a third without air superiority. It really is like they're not paying attention.
Not really impressed. They all look basically the same to me. The "macro" maps look just like the "rush" maps
#4 looks like it will be blink stalker madness with those close bases ...
Looks like nice map hopefully maps like Slag Pits, Delta Quadrant and Scrap Station will be replaced by them
blizzard must really hate macro games. Since the last news of season 3 I thought I might start again playing ladder but if these maps really get into the pool I'll definately stick with custom again..
no gsl map, no iccup map.. if blizzard cant make macro maps, why dont they use these maps? -.-
Not too amazed. By the looks of some map I as Protoss feel that taking a 3rd is eitehr impossible or way too easy oO
3rd and 4th looks okish, not sure about the first two as i dont think "rush based maps" are good for "esports" or my ladderfun :3
No ninja GSL or Iccup maps in the pool? Would love to see belshir beach added!
The 2v2 3v3 and 4v4 maps are a welcome addition those map pools were getting stale.
I just want to play GSL maps on the ladder. Is that too much to ask?

Macro map with the most choked up and narrow middle = sad for zerg.
I'm predicting quite a bit of hive mind mentality. Hopefully when we start playing them, they can turn out better than they look.
They should put these on the PTR so they can be playtested before release. Seriously, add some GSL maps or iccup maps, they exceed these in quality by 500%.

I wish there were more 2/3 spawn 1v1 maps, these look ok but I wish there were more GSL maps added in aswell, the beach would be nice.

I don't think Blizzard realizes that rush maps should not exist because the game is balanced for large maps. There are things players can flat out lose to without scouting, and with these maps they player can't even build reactionary units.
Not only this, but a large amount of strategies have limited map control. This means that taking a third is impossible for that large amount of builds. The problem isn't with the build makers, but with Blizzard. They don't give players units for area denial. They encourage "rush" plays that don't give the defender an advantage.
The game doesn't need to be tuned for casuals. The matchmaking system allows them to play at a lower level. Getting a third is a thousand times easier than building exactly what they need to defend the opponents hidden, cheesy tactics.

Wow the maps look great! I'm really looking forward to play on them, especially the 1v1 macro map.
