I like Meta w/o close spawn whether it favors Zerg in late game or not. It just a really good map when you take control of the game. Harassing, macro even better with the gold. So sad for such an interesting map.

Not sure what kind of games you're playing on Metal; mine are never "boring". Put simply, it's a fantastic map, regardless of whether or not it's "old". Meanwhile, Backwater Gulch stays and we get a bunch of 2 base timing maps. Yay "fresh and new"!!! -_-

And also, they are talking about 60% win on the no-close spawn versions. Because surely the highest levels don't play with close spawns anymore.

For the new Lava map one in 1v1, can the natural be abused by tanks behind the rocks.

How do you overcome this?

You don't.

Theres a lot of new maps with stupid tank spots that can hit certain things (hatchs, gas gysers, etc)

Those same rocks also make it impossible to rax expand in tvp. Having to defend 2 hugely different locations AND a ridge you can slap a pylon on one side of and warp in from the other side AND I have to ensure they don't get up the ramp means 4 and 6 gate strategies seem impossible to hold off with bio play. So either I learn an inferior style (1 basing or marine/tank) or I thumb it down.

Thumbed down. Hard.

I would fear the vertical close position instead of tanks on a cliff... did you play on it ? The NaturalToNatural distance is worst than Steppe of War.

This map is bad and everyone (at least Zerg players) will ban it.

Sad to see Metal go, but the other 3 maps removed were my 3 vetoes. Gives me a chance to downvote all the new maps if they work out as bad as they appear.
