Oooh, an actual trophy. Does this mean you'll advertise the final match as '2 girls 1 cup'?

Any male has the right to enter this tournament, and if you deny him, you are blatantly breaking his right to equality. Shame on you. User was temp banned for this post. You've never watched sports in your entire life, have you? In most sports there are female and male teams. This is mainly because girls tend to have a lower maximum physical strenght than males. In starcraft girls are horribly underrepresented, and this is a good move towards getting more ladies in the competition I think like 3% of TL is female.

I feel this promotes sexism and further implies that women can't compete with men. Women are allowed to compete in other tournaments, there is no need to increase the gender gap and imply that women do not have the potential to compete against men. Furthermore, if this tournament was to be taken seriously I feel the original post should have been more professional. I'll agree with the last part. For the first part: when there is a gender gap, we tend to create a separate league for the other gender. This is a trend not just in starcraft but in real sports as well. Everyone recognizes that women have the potential to compete against men but because I think there are real barriers to that happening (i.e. harassment, social discouragement) I don't see the problem with creating a separate league here. There ARE barriers they face that men do not.

I am relatively sure no one really cares if I am female or not. It doesn't matter. My gender does not affect my gameplay.

I'm sorry if this seems rude or anything but I figured it would be good to make it look as professional as possible! I don't think she misspelled it, she is a Bee Duck after all. And she has an accent and situated from the country down unda.

For the post containing the addressing of the split of male/female cups. Check out the interview with some of the girls from broodwar (dunno where it is now), here the girls comment that they dont have the stamina of the boys and they are therefore unable to train as much.

Furthermore, if this tournament was to be taken seriously I feel the original post should have been more professional. Women CAN play with everyone else. The point is that they don't want men playing WITH the women in this tourney. There is a difference. Simply on average, there are extremely few women good enough to compete in tourney play. If they allowed anyone to join, then 90% of them would get crushed out in the first rounds. On the other hand, if the best women decided to sign up for an online tourney or even something like MLG, nobody is stopping them. This is no more unfair than doing one of those "gold league and down" tourneys.

here the girls comment that they dont have the stamina of the boys and they are therefore unable to train as much That sounds like they are using gender as an excuse for not wanting to train as much nor taking the game as seriously. If someone wishes to compete at a professional level they should train accordingly.
