I live in a brand new house, and I'm still struggling to cover the walls with nice things to make it feel more like a home.
My GF and I have taken to artwork, and have done a few semi-abstract paintings. (Hers look really good, mine are shit).
Anyways, on the weekend I was browsing some images for inspiration on what to paint, and came accross an abstract Donkey Kong painting. I basically copied it from the image I saw online. I've hung it in my office/computer room and it looks kinda cool!

I'm looking for ideas, and inspiration on other iconic video game scenes that could be represented in a very simple abstract painting that would be recognizable to the average gamer.

Well I don't understand abstract art, but that piece does look like Donkey Kong, if that's the point of it. From a personal standpoint though, it didn't look like it took too much time or effort and looks way too simple for my tastes.
As for ideas; Pacman, mario, etc (i.e. anything from the 8 bit era) would be pretty easily recognizable in that form, much like your donkey kong piece

It's not supposed to look like it took a long time. That's kind of what I'm going for.
PacMan is a good idea, but I'm looking for even simpler ideas than that. Might do a space invaders.

i'd stick to the vintage stuff from the NES days. You definitely need some Mega Man and TMNT.
