When reading the article, I was initially half-critical as I thought this was a not so light-handed article intending to bludgeon the new sc2 player scene into appreciating what was going on in the BW days. With TSL just over, it makes sense to me that TL makes a strong move into SC2 an then here backtracks to BW nostalgia. That could be somewhat true, but I don't really think so now. I feel the article stands on its own, and I was blown away at the dominance Savior showed in the 2007 era (I got into BW in late 2008) and his use of tactics. It made me wonder if Zerg could be racially more dependent on tactics; I'm not sure, but I'm sure some Zergs, specific SC2 Zergs come to mind, would've called TvZ imba and never progressed the game as Savior did. 5/5!

I can only recall one player retiring well before he was finished. Effort. Guess what? His comeback is about to start as well. Ver is talking about Savior's era of domination. Nothing more; nothing less. There is nothing mediocre about what he did prior to him getting stomped by Bisu. Once again, I repeat: we're looking at the time frame of his dominance. If you want to fulfill your Jaedong/Flash craving I recommend you read some of the Final Edits done on them.

Savior was good, but not that good as showcased by his mediocre career record (55% winrate anyone?) lol this is talking about during his prime.. he had 3 years to tarnish his win rate to there. Did you factor that in?

Yeah, if i recall correctly he had +70% winrate in his prime (might be +65%). And in his osl run which he won (not sure if it was that one) he had +90% winrate vs protoss which was sickkkk.

I'm looking forward to part 2. Would be nice to have this sort of thing for other BW pros. It's really interesting.
