Up and down for a little while. Then it's really good, then it just plunges and people commit suicide. I don't know what the hell this game does to my brain but I just slump so hard every month or so and I just don't understand why.
I'm not getting anywhere and getting really discouraged. I try to always make scvs, don't get blocked but always find myself getting 1a'd every.single.game. About 350 wins and still stuck in gold (i'll probably drop at this rate)
There was a while where I was happily beating plat and some diamond players, then it's like the game decides to screw me and punishes the shit out of me for the next 2 weeks.
I have no confidence at all going into any game. Because I'm just assuming that I'm going to lose (which is usually correct anyway)
-sigh- I just don't know why I slump so very, very hard.
Here's a new one. Losing to 1 unit type when I have things that can kill it.

Confidence helps tremendously. Just try to imagine when you are playing ladder that you are playing a very easy AI. Whenever you are playing an easy computer, you should feel in control and know that you are going to win. If you go in with this mind set while playing on the ladder, you should fine that you begin to win more. As far as people stuck in gold, you should analyze replays and see exactly what is going wrong. Also, try to take a build order and practice it over and over just to get the basics completely under control.

well you are having more loses than your wins by some margin.
try to re-think/learn the basic fundementals and start all over again. dont get cocky.
whenever u lose:
1. dont comment on anything 2. open the replay 3. find out where your macro slipped away 4. find out your mistakes or weak points 5. go next game and work on those one by one 6. repeat from begininng
surely it will help

Sir, you slump because as it is very common, your mechanics are really bad. Your last marines under 3 tanks died unmicroed to banelings. Bio TvZ can be quite APM intensive. Either try hard to play faster, or switch to mech.

You see, the ladder is pretty much like the stock market, you have highs and lows. But unlike the stock market the ladder tries its best to keep you at 50% w/l. Which means you need to be constantly improving to beat this trend. It's actually quite interesting.
