And there's no way a BGS is 8m. You're shitting me. When I played it was 50m+ X_______X
I shit you not.
But wait, free trade is back now so the GE price isn't the end-all.....is that the street price as well then? Yergh it used to actually mean something to own a godsword...
GE price doesn't stay within 5% anymore ...for example, divine before the update was unbuyable in GE at 200m because street it was worth over 1 bil. GE now doesn't have a cap so Divine has stabilized around 850m and some party hats have went over a Bil. GE price is still the end all, because it actually tracks real trade prices now.

Bandos spec lowers defence, which is useful but Bandos is where all the semi noob type players camp for money and drops so BGS is tanking.
Saradomin godsword has went down due to summoning, level 88 unicorn heals 15% of your health each spec and a new prayer Soul split which heals you 1/5 of the damage you hit. Only thing it is useful for now is Slayer tasks and the small amount of prayer regen it gives.
Armadyl godsword went down due to claws being a better 1 hit KO and suprise attack weapon in PvP. Blitz rushing was decent but now with damage soaking the big hits get mitigated down below the KO mark.
Zamaorak godsword went down because its special is literally not useful at all. Might be used PKing in a large clan to freeze people or at Saradomin Boss to hold her in place so you can range her, but that is about it. If Zammy was actually viable to camp and make good money, ZGS would be down to 4 or 5 mil.
That is the link the my character, lowest skill is 72 Runecrafting everything else is 75+
The main reason because of the price drops for gs is actually simply the constant supply of them. People will keep doing GWD and as more gs enter the economy, they simply become cheaper. Also another reason is that barely any leave the economy due to the PVP changes, in old wildy if you died and didnt have protect, the GS would leave the economy, nowadays it just goes to the other person and thus remains in economy. The swords going outdated compared to the new equipment is just a secondary reason.
I'm a 1,1b bankworth merchanter so you can trust my info. ; )
I remember buying my first r2h for 3~M. Had to literally trade the armor off my back to close the deal, haha. I was also the 25thish person to rune mining.
I quit the day rs2 came out because I couldn't hang out in the wildy on my 56 pure (and they removed catching, not that anyone remembers that...)
The Runescape Soundtrack is second to none as well... I love the game, wish the player control was WOW style though... would be nice if the enviroment was a little prettier as well, but they dont charge you and thats the biggest advantage over WoW you can get...
WoW= Qucik leveling, easy weapon access, no sense of accomplishment besides BG and you have to buy the game and pay them monthly... (seriously WTF) I beat WoW in the 1 month free trail they gave me and the quests were exactly like a poster here said, "fetch me 10 bear asses and Ill give you money and this weapon that is amazing (why the hell wouldnt you use the weapon yourself then mr. nps?)
Runescape= grinding, time consuming (which leads to a..), sense of accomplishment. Not to mention its free!
Havnt played either in forever though so who knows my opinion could change
Ah i remember runescape... it was fun, while I was still too stupid to realise how much of a waste of time it was. The way I feel about MMORPGs now is that most of the time you spend on it is used on grinding the skills to achieve some "satisfaction" of being able to do something with such a high skill afterwards. Then you get to the point where someone's always better than you, purely because they've played longer than you... which is why RTS is much better =D

Whoever plays RS and doesn't know the term 'catching' should be ashamed of him/herself.

I don't think WoW and RS are really comparable games. WoW has nothing like the wildy (the only reason I played) but RS has no end game. I don't know what you "beat" in a month but it certainly wasn't WoW.

Well, when you max everything and complete all quests/diaries, that is pretty much Endgame even though you can still do everything.
I played long ago as well. Was nice here and there. Sure changed a lot ever since the last time I played. Was surprised when I found out you were Chrono Boost on TDM forums. I'm there as well but retired.
Played 7 years, 350+ ingame days and got up to 10.5bil staking until I lost it. Pretty happy that I quit considering I wasted so much of my life on it lol

Really? Whats your RSN? I've been Clan Friend rank for like 3 months, but I could probably find you anyways.

Thomas_Vo1 Though I don't post much anymore. Just like TL, I lurk a lot but post rarely.

Is this trolling or just ignorance? Of course there's an endgame. Nowadays you can even play it like a "Monster Hunter" style game (or whatever that Japanese console game is called) and organize some dungeon crawls.
The real endgame is (of course) the clan scene. I don't know what the state of it is today, but it used to be a huge, drama packed buzzing community with night-long fights over the northernmost parts of the Wilderness.
Gotta give props to RS for that - few games allow for battles involving hundreds of players, other than eve - none do so on non-localized servers.
People will say RS is just a timesink and yeah - sure, it might be, but when i'm in a hiring position, you better believe i'd hire someone with the dedication needed to reach 99 flats before bandits (or even before RS2!). I've already had the requirement "fraps yourself filling a 1000x1000 size paint BMP with the pencil tool (from white to black)" for a position.
I haven't played in a long while but here are my account names: fir3_d4ag0nr (lvl 134 i believe) and unpure12ang3 (range/mage pure lvl 96 or something). I've considered starting back up. I have like 5 santas in the bank and a lot of gold so I don't think money would be the issue. So much new stuff in the game though so I'd have to learn so much to get back into it
Anyone considering a TL clan though? Might be a fun idea.
PS I also have lower level pures from back before pking was disallowed so I could use those as well to pk no that it has returned.
I've been watching this video over and over for the past while. I can't get over that I have never gotten a decent PK (more than like 1m excluding 76k tricks), and this guy PKs godswords like its nothing..

I'm only level 90 and am not really exerperienced with rs2 combat, but I would join if someone started a TL clan! I wonder if we have enough highish levels to make a decent pk group?
