Brand new silver 2011 Toyota FJ Cruiser 4WD as of Saturday. V6 engine packing 260hp. I've named her Beatrice for now (feels like it'll stick very well, unless someone's got a better name)..

Won't be doing any major working part mods anytime soon. Don't want to void the warranty just yet. $36k OTD, $1k down, $700 monthly, and $100 to fill up (19gal). Yes, I paid, and will pay, for it all. :D
The green Volkswagen Jetta GLS in the first picture is my old ride.
Edit: TL isn't resizing the images anymore (broke?) so I stripped out the IMG BBCode so they're links now.

And don't forget to go to vilegaming! You forgot that part <3
New ride looks clean as hell man, it aint my kind of car, but looks good yo.

Call it ugly Betty

All set for the zombie apocalypse!

700 dollars a month and 100 a fill? Sounds like a gigantic waste of money to me.

My coworker just got an FJ, it's a nice ride.
@ TadH, don't come into a blog just bashing a guy's new ride. Not cool.
Anyhow,

Was the first thing that my coworker put on his truck, a few months after getting it. It actually helps quite a bit, I don't know how much driving you have done with it yet, but on really sunny days the glare on the hood is atrocious. Also if you get roof lights and do off-roading your roof lights will glare like a mother fucker on the flat hood.
Cheap, and his is silver too and it looks great. Just don't rush yourself installing it so that it lines up properly and you're all set.

not really my cup of tea but its an alright price still
pls for real offroading pics!

I didn't bash, I gave my opinion. It's in the blog section for a reason and if the guy takes offence to my opinion then let him speak up.
|
I'm not speaking for him, and your opinion is fine - I just think you could have at least considered he bought the truck because he liked it, and maybe could have gone without telling him you thought it was a huge waste of money.
Not worth getting into anything about it.

Fair enough. I kind of like the truck also, but that is a lot of money for that particular truck.
But if he's happy then that is all that matters I guess.

Hah, maybe not as obscene; a more subtle looking grill guard and roof lights. I'm waiting until my warranty is over to get aftermarket shocks. The stock ones aren't bad at all though.
|
Lots of offroaders use the stock ones - use them till they need to be replaced, they certainly aren't bad.
Where are you from? I guess I could look at plates in the pictures but I'm lazy :p
Should hook up with the local FJ club, they are all over the place.

He's from San Diego. Lives pretty close to me too if you live anywhere near the dealer! I drive by that dealership like every day on the way back from work lol.

What do you do for a living?

I had a hunch it was Cali. There's a HUGE FJ club out California way.
I, unfortunately, live just outside of Washington DC. Long ways away.

Hey I live in San Diego too. Wanna give me a ride in your sweet new car? I promise not to spill too many cheetos onto the seats! Be warned though, I get car sick easily. >=F

Holy shit. $36k for a Toyota? O_O
Should have gone with a 2-3 year old BMW X3 or 3-series for that price, IMO.

Hah, nah I live quite far aways actually; I'm over in Carmel Mountain Ranch, just northeast of Mira Mesa.
