[NASL] Day 1-5 - Page 162
Forum Index > StarCraft 2 Tournaments |
Yesterday's broadcast has had its issues. We all saw it. There are 10+ pages of whining. There is an entirely new cast going on now. Please keep whining about issues experienced yesterday to yourself going forward in the thread and allow other people to enjoy the games.

I didn't see the NASL broadcast. Is the "When Cheese Fails" video on youtube? What was so bad about it? In the apology video, they weren't really being specific. It was just the language? I looked at their channel and there are a handful of "When Cheese Fails" videos. Which one was it? Thanks. edit: Saw the post above mine... hm... okay.

It wasn't that funny, but it really didn't deserve all the hate it got. People seriously baffle me sometimes.

At least that's the only rational way I can think of that people get so crazy. I didn't see the segment, but from what I did see, I had a big ole banana grin on my face pretty much the whole time. NASL is pretty fucking awesome. Meh, it's a little choppy from time to time, but its a free stream, and damn I love the casters.

What evs. NASL should offer their own mea culpa for not introducing what kind of videos they create so people would have been more open minded instead of getting their delicate sensibilities bruised. Not to mention the fact that NASL they did screen it before and gave it the go ahead. That said, it wasn't their best work. Understandable given the short amount of time they had. They should have chosen a winner from one of their previous Youtube videos. I personally thought that the one where the Protoss cannon rushed an unoccupied base was their finest hour.

Seems like a really stupid decision not to use the maps all the other tournaments use, but apparently they are changing the map pool after this. Mana seemed to know about the ramp as he made his gates there Seems really stupid to play in a tournament without having read the tournament rules (chapter "maps used"). Its not like its the first time Tyler enters an important tournament totally unprepared. In his TSL matches he scouted close position even though it was impossible to spawn on close positions. He just didnt know because.. who knows?. Maybe he doesnt care at all. Some random tournaments, who cares about the map modifications?

Picture on NASL.tv is the picture of GSL Crevasse. It was not GSL Crevasse (it's a map that never appeared on GSL but was how Crevasse looked like in their Beta map testing period). Please don't say things unless you know what you're talking about. The mistake is not with Tyler here. Although he should not have used the words he did. NASL has issues an apology and map change newspost.

Really who gives a flying fuck. I think this is being blown way out of proportion. Some words can be used in multiple ways and have a totally different meaning. In society, unless you are a total pussy you should develop a shield for these kind of things. Everyone get's confronted by things they are offended by every now and then and we all have to deal with it. I really don't see why people make such a big a drama out of this. I also highly doubt that the word rape on a gaming stream was referring to an act of sexual intercourse that is forced upon a person. And even if it did mean just that I don't see the problem. When you stop watching the NASL because of this you should stop watching the news as well. Imagine not being able to say anything that others may find offensive or confronting .. You wouldnt be able to say 'he robbed him of those minerals' anymore because some people may have been robbed and traumatized. You couldn't say 'marines' anymore because someone has been traumatized during his time in the navy and gets upset everytime he just hears the word. Heck, you wouldn't be able to say ANYTHING anymore, not even something as trivial as 'camels', because for all you know the person next to you in the bus might suffer from camelphobia. Don't get me wrong. I would love for people to take each other's feelings more into consideration during their daily lives, but this is just plain rediculous.

It seems like a blantant mistake from their side. http://www.nasl.tv/News/Article/2011-04-17-map-updates We're fine with this. I think Tyler will want to explain a bit more on SotG because he didn't look so nice with the way he expressed himself, and I think he deserves the opportunity to explain the situation from his perspective so that everyone understands it better. As far as where we go from here; we understand that NASL is new to this scene and will make mistakes. What we care about the most is that they admit them and fix them, which is what they did and will do. So we're happy there is nothing further to be said.
