MATCHES HAVE RESUMED... We have resolved our connectivity/power issues. Live streaming matches will follow later possibly after the lunch break at 4:30-5:30 (CST)
Thank you for your patience!
RTS
Since the event has been taken down from the on-air stream I figured I'd post a quick post describing whats happening right now.
Whats happening
We've got serious connectivity issues. We've contacted battlenet and apparently the issues are coming from our end. We are in the process of contacting the ISP.
In the meantime we are trying to ration our log ins in order to get as many people playing as possible but something like 80% of our players can't log in and we would prefer to let people play the games on their own personal computers.
The possibility of streaming these games right now is fairly low due to the connectivity. We're going to try to cast replays at some point in the future.
Looking around, right now we have something like 40-50 people watching TSL and chatting about how awesome Tyler and/or thorzain are.
I'll post an update once we resolve our connectivity.
OP
I would like to welcome all gamers to come to the first event hosted by our group. Hopefully the first of many:
Twin Cites Open Starcraft 2 1v1 Tournament

*You will need to sign up by 12pm on location the day of the event. Registration is 10$*
We will be having over 150$ in prizes with possible additional prizes and a raffle at the end. (the more people that come the larger prize pool we can get!)
Also we will be having free pizza too so it will be a great day for starcraft, friends, food, and fun.
Routinetrafficstop, Siraz, and MikeyR will be casting and we will also give a few up start casters a chance to call a few matches (after all we will have 10+ hours of live casting)
We will be streaming the tournament live on SirazTV
We will be casting from the start (near noon) to the end of the day (near midnight)
We encourage participants to bring their own computers, however we will rent 2 computers on location for some players that had mentioned they were flying in, or driving long distances can use them. We can rent additional computers on location for the whole day for 20$ so if you don't want to bring your computer you can rent one for the day with 8 being the total available. You also can bring your own peripherals too for the rented computers. PM me if you have any questions.
The map pool will include some of the old some of the new and a few GSL maps: Xel'Naga Caverns, Shakuras Plateau, Metalopolis, The Shattered Temple, Backwater Gulch, Typhon Peaks, Terminous RE, Crevasse, and Tal'Darim Altar.
The player has the choice to exclude 2 maps to from the pool for their duration of the tournament.
Format will be group stage round robin for the first round (top two players advance to winners bracket bottom two head to the consolation bracket) This will ensure everyone gets to play at least 3 games in the tournament.
From then on in the winners bracket its double elimination (if you loose you drop to the losers bracket)
The consolation bracket single elimination.
Every round will be best of 3 until the grand final which will be best of 5
There is plenty of seating on location we can accommodate many people and we will be using the projector on site to display the featured matches so if you have some down time you can gather round and check out the cast!
Hope to see many of you there, or we hope that you tune in and check out many of the great players in the Twin Cities area!
Thank you!
Routinetrafficstop
PM me with any questions you may have or if you would like a copy of the official flyer to hand out at your college/school or place of work.
**NOTE to answer some good questions that have been asked:
In addition to your cpu, bring a monitor, your keyboard/mouse, and if possible a ethernet cable... we will have a few extra ethernet cables if you do not have one (but only 5 or so). Also you can use one of LWG's computers for 20$ I'm trying to negotiate that down to 15 for our players that have to travel a long distance. (LWG's computers are very nice flat screen monitors, headsets, microsoft keyboard/optical mouse, and he has 4 licenses for sc2 that can be used in case for some reason you dont have your own account XD )
Also cash is the preferred method of payment for registration, and as long as you are at the location by noon that is fine we can get you registered soon after. You can come as early as 11am if you wish to get set up early, help us set up, or meet the casters/relax and play a few warm up games if possible.**
*Another Note*
I'm suggesting a 5$ donation for non-participants however its a free will donation (donate a dollar or 2 if you can but its not required to come and watch the events) this is for pizza and drinks that I am paying out of pocket for the group so if we have too many people/spectators I wont be able to afford pizza/drinks for everyone because i'm paying out of my pocket.
I would rather have more people without being able to afford pizza for everyone THAN less people come and pizza for everybody if you catch my drift lol
*Yet another note*
If anyone has a prize/cash they want to donate to the prize pool let me know. Someone had mentioned that they work for best buy and they may give a gift card. If anyone can get prizes like this for a raffle at the end we will give the donating party shout outs on the live stream for their support of e-sports!
