But ya, I think the problem is that some people in America really think they can make a living from playing Starcraft. Well they can if they get sponsors lol.

Not sure that Sundance got it. Yeah he kind of talked past it. Not sure he totally understood what Nony meant. Seems like sundance doesnt really want to hear other peoples opinions/ideas and just kinda swerves around the comment or questions. Not quite, I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that the decisions are irreversible at this point and debating it is pretty much a time waster and won't be able to affect any decisions for a very very long time.

I could see Koreans going to the championships or something, but they wouldn't bother if it was like 5 15k tourneys. I think its mainly MLG want to show everyone "Look at our prize pool! Its as big as GSL!". But in truth, the prize pool for the whole year is less than 1/7 of GSL. I dont think many top koreans will go considering you need to go to a lot of qualifier which will conflict with there gsl commitments.

He could just not want to get into the specifics of it. "The sponsors want it" is about as good a justification as your going to get in that situation.

But on topic I don't hate Octoshape! Actually I love it because it works flawlessly on my end. As for the Sundance, I have a bad feeling about him. I may be wrong but in my opinion this guy is just trying to reap what the Starcraft community sowed.

The whole point of this cast is trying to make it to where someone can make a living playing SC. I want to live in a world where passions like these are rewarded. Don't you?

Yea and according to Sundance , this is not achieved primarily via prize money. He said that there will be sponsors who want to pay players to promote their products. Like they will sponsor players to go around saying how they like Dr pepper or doritos. That makes total sense because thats how it works in most sports. Players earn from their contracts not by winning the prize money.

It's basically JP asking a 3 word question, and sundance avoiding to answere it for 15 minutes, and none else is talking.. let's see if it gets hot and heavy soon. Then again it's 06:32 here, so really late for me, and I need something interesting not to zone out. Preshow was nice though

False, I've met him multiple times at countless events over the past 7 years and he is definitely not like that. MLG is trying to pick Starcraft 2 up and promote it because the community at MLG was in an uproar for MLG to pick it up and support it. If you can raise enough support for any game MLG will pick it up and try their hardest to help the game grow. They don't just pick whatever popular game (such as SC2) there is at any given time and suck all the money out of it.
