They used to hold events in ny, Boston, a lot more west coast events, Toronto, but stopped due to low attendance. They used to go to chicago as well but there's no venue big enough.

Gurgle, I really disagree on their map talk.
When Broodwar was new and the maps were bad, there wasn't a very developed pro scene or metagame. They didn't know what the maps were supposed to be like (I think).
We know that this time around, and these new maps aren't as macro oriented as they appear to be. One of the maps doesn't even have a third base.
They also didn't address the issue of having small maps on ladder and real maps for things like the GSL.
