So, if you live in New England, there is a staple in Mexican food. And that staple is not Taco Bell, it's Acapulco's! Acapulco's is amazing. For the cost, the portions are good and the tequila is crisp. The El Presidente margarita is my drink of choice with Jose 1800 silver... OH LAY! Anyway, the place is amazing and I've been a little sad as there is no Acapulco's up where I live in Derry, NH for convenience sake. There is however, La Caretta.
My wife and I went there with our daughter for the first time last night. Surprisingly enough, we now know my 3yr old like salsa and quesadillas. Anyway, the unlimited tortilla chips were warm and crunchy and the drinks were quite strong. My wife ordered a burrito that ended up being the size of someone's forearm. It was pretty good as I ended up eating about a third of it.
The reason for this, is that I ordered my normal 2 chimichangas and when I got them... they were small. Now like teeny tiny, but they were about half the size I was expecting. At Acapulco's, the chimichangas are the size of a burrito, because you know, a chimichanga is a deep fried burrito. That makes pandas sad.
Now aside from my disappointment with the size of my plate, I do have to say that the atmosphere was pretty authentic and the wait staff was right on point, even with it being a 30min wait to sit and eat. The food was tasty and the alcohol was aplenty, so if your in the Derry area or Nashua/Manchester, I would def suggest trying out La Caretta. If your not, Acapulco's is the way to go.

Cemitas is good, but any discussion of Brookline should take into account Anna's Taqueria. Greatest burritos this side of the Rio Grande.

It's been awhile since I've lived in Boston, but Anna's had nothing on El Pelon. It was behind Fenway on peterborough st and had the freshest most delicious burritos in the region. Sadly it burnt down a few years ago and I've since moved away. I'd guess they'd have re-opened by now since they were planning on it.

I actually haven't been there and it's right up the street in Salem/Windham.

God man, I lived in the US for ten years, moved back to Korea now, and am really missing the Mexican food.
