yeah pretty much. they didnt support the forum much at all past the redesign and the site's been down several times in the past, though no incident quite equaled the current downtime
its a shame though because there was a pretty nice community behind that website and i'd hate to see it ruined by something as trivial as husky/hd neglecting to pay the site fees or whatever

Trying to get a hold of anyone this time of year is pretty hard. Once the new year settles in I am sure we will see some headway!
Thanks for the update! Hope husky and HD sort out whatever is going on

The problem is that people here get warned/banned for the lightest stuff. I got warned for, apparently, not directly answering the prompt in the OP in some thread. Maybe I caught a mod on a bad day or something.
I get it, though -- TL is a huge community and you can't just have people running amok. I don't begrudge anyone for the strict policies here; SCA is just different, more relaxed, and not necessarily better.

must not read the 10 commandments of TL.net ...........ontopic what exactly does HD/Husky do since all their vods are on youtube now....and youtube pays them money to upload their videos to youtube?

well... that's unfortunate. to me it seemed like some smaller alternative to the battle.net forums.
i'm sure some people like it though, too bad it went down.

The thing is, there's more obvious stupidity but less actual frustration, if that makes sense. If there are trolls, you can tell that they're trolling. On TL, there's a higher average level of intelligence but sometimes you just get really irritated by sophisticated trolling or well-hidden ignorance.

In spirit, I mean. TL is like going to a starcraft convention, with all the pros, commentators, and many hardcore nethusiasts, whilst SCA was like hanging out with your buddies from School and playing with them. There is more of a connection to the average person.

No matter what you think of HDH or the forum, no community should disappear over night like that. I hope it gets resolved and you guys get your place back.

I got the general feeling after SC2 went retail and both HD and Husky hit it "big time" that they seemed less interested in working together. At Day9's launch party I found it a bit weird that HD was doing casting with Painuser and I believe Husky was casting with someone else too. The slow progress on HDH2 and the lack of any co-casted videos with both of them (which they did with some frequency during beta) kind of hints at this too I think.
Idk, I could be way off base here though. But if this is the case, they may have just let SCA fall to the wayside. Hopefully it all works out, hate to see any good gaming community sites disappear.

But this sort of attitude is what makes me love TL as well. Thanks for the sentiment, and keeping this forum free of trolls.

Generally we close threads that advertise going to another forum, but it seems like there's no other way for you guys to get in touch with each other so this can stay open. Let's not turn this thread into a TL vs SCA forum comparison, every forum has its strengths and weaknesses and nobody needs to justify going to one or both to anyone. Like Jibba said, I hope this gets resolved.

No word yet from either HD or Husky. I have already emailed them and Skyped them, but will try again later tonight.
EDIT: just read the last post. Sorry. :D

So trolling and thread derails aren't controlled, that's awesome... yeah i frequented the site for a while and i must say it suffered heavily from its lack of moderation from my standpoint. Should the site go back up, they need to enforce rules or have stricter moderators or something or il simply stop going there.
And on another note, hd and husky.. although they were less of a presence on the actual forum, ffs guys at least make a video letting people know whats going on. I may not be a fan of the state the sca community was in but they'res a lot of them and they got left out in the cold very abruptly with no explanation.

I have been holding of joining the forum just because the site has been going down and apparently HD and Husky aren't on good speaking terms. I really hope they put aside their differences and start talking again.
|
Wasn't there some kind of falling out between the two, HD and Husky? I remember hearing Tyler talking about it on SotG a week or two ago. Might have something to do with it, eh?

Just wanted to thank TL and the TL staff for allowing this topic to remain and being understanding to the situation. It's much appreciated.
Hopefully SCA is able to return soon.
