The fact of the matter is that there are country-only tournaments, league-only tournaments, university-only tournaments. You can run a tournament and direct it towards any group of people you want to get involved. Can you imagine posting in a Gold League tourney something like "Who are these noobs? Why isn't IdrA in this?" You'd be a fucking douche bag. I don't see why a bunch of ignoramuses have to get worked up any time it's about women, but not any other exclusive event. Well, actually, I do. They're sexist, and they come from a perspective that makes them unable to see it. Facing discrimination is a substantive experience that can only be understood through experience. On the intarwebz, it's a delicate line between being a frigid bitch and an e-whore, and that's bullshit. For people who think that toughening up on posts like the ones in that thread is ineffective, you're dead wrong. That thread looks bad, but I think the overall results across the forum have been quite pleasing.

That thread looks bad, but I think the overall results across the forum have been quite pleasing. Personally, I think the harshness of the moderation is why TeamLiquid so friggin' awesome. I'm actually surprised people are still doing the whole "pics plz!" thing. Seriously, we've heard it like 1000 times. It's not funny anymore. It's just annoying. And quite frankly, TeamLiquid is pretty clear about not allowing stupid shit like that. Of course, like many others, I came here after getting tired of the repetitive QQing and pointless flaming on the battle.net forums.

They read the word "female" and their minds go blank. Just as if they had lost themselves in the void of a horse.

Wow thanks for pointing out that gem. I seriously laughed out loud. I did not have the patience to read through that whole thread.

I seriously think one of the bigger issues is that people just don't visit the "Closed Threads" section and the automated ban list thread. Well, I guess that, coupled with the fact that most people probably don't read what anyone else has to say so they don't see the red text of death (TM). Oh well, I enjoy reporting posts. I think I have a pretty good success rate with those.

I was sorely reminded of this fact when browsing the B.Net or HoN forums, where the trolls/morons outnumber the contributers 10-to-1. Keep up the good work, hero!
