As my family and friends know me very well, they were excellent over Christmas in fuelling my functional alcoholic tendencies:
This doesn't include the whisky (just Jim Beam white label, nothing special, the black label is fucking hard to find/expensive when you do nowadays) and some of the bonus Chimay which didn't fit in the box, or what I've already drunk. What's pictured is most of the order from beersofeurope (somewhat of a misnomer). This has stuff from all over the world, sadly as I'm almost as old as Boxer I knew it was coming because I signed for the delivery of it, Christmas at this age is more of an inconvenience. Moreover, it had beer from our favourite Sparkyz/Entus sponsors, Hite:
Saw they had a Korea section, couldn't resist. Wikipedia states that it's somewhat modelled on Budweiser (the American stuff, not the Czech stuff), so let's see:
Certainly looks somewhat like it in colour. On tasting, you can definitely tell the similarities - at least with the draught/canned version of Bud, less so the bottled which is imo somewhat sweeter. It's certainly the beer that I'd compare it to the most. It has a nice dry sharpness to it, is pretty well balanced, maybe a touch towards hoppy, and is fine to have as a session beer.
A somewhat late merry christmas and happy new year to all of TL, hope you got what you were after.
If it's like Budweiser, it sounds awfully mediocre. I dunno, I guess I am just a beer snob. Never found anything that I like as much as Krombacher Pils ( I miss German beer D: )

Hite is basically the worst beer in the world, except for all the other beers in Korea. It boggles the mind that a country of 50 million drinkers hasn't made a better lager.
I think Koreans prefer soju or other vodka-like drinks over beer. At least that's the impression I get from a lot of korean shows. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Common sight in Korea:
Chicken + beer(치맥) + chips or nachos + those weird cracker things in the bowl on the top are the basic 안주(snack served with alcohol)
But anyways.. Korean beer sucks :X..... And soju sucks too. Ugh.
1. Thank you for updating me on Korean's alcohol consumption. However, korean beer does suck because we don't have a beer-drinking history (according to the ever-dependable Wiki article, beer was introduced to Korea in early-20th century).
2. I hate you for making me so hungry. That pic looks so GOOD!!!!!!
I've never tasted a beer that didn't taste like nasty bitter pisswater to me, and i've tried quite a few of them. Someone is always like "try this one man it tastes delicious" and then i drink x pretentious microbrewed beer and find it's still disgusting. I don't get how people can drink it for fun.

Actually koreans who care drink good beers, but with something like soju available there really hasn't been a cultural movement towards making/finding better beers. It would take brewmasters and a concerted effort to make good beers the norm in Korea.
Koreans also aren't about sitting in a pub laid back and sipping on a nice stout or something like that which is found in most good beer cultures. It's about nibbling on snacks, street food, or getting fucked up on soju. Koreans are also trendy as hell so something like johnny walker sells a lot better than some beer that only sells in Czech/Germany/Ireland.
Edit: But yes Hite, Cass, OB, and other korean beers blow.
