Something isnt right here... You're so pessimistic. Town missed on one lynch the entire game (lets ignore electing a scum as mayor :p). Think of it this way: The town plays dead the first three days to extract vital information and the proceeds with 7 consecutive scum lynches. -_-

Town lynching correctly every day doesn't cut it because mafia get 2 kills every night. 9 v 6 is not just an informed minority v informed majority. The informed minority can kill twice as fast. Anyway, the game was probably stacked with 8 mafia as it is anyway. Even with TWO mason groups consisting of a total of 20% of the entire town, that still doesn't leave much room for error.

Well then. The name list is what really killed us. My efforts to redirect the lynch on day 3 worked fine vs Pandain. But after that the town "circles" already had too many confirmed blues, so my efforts were shit. -_- It was the name list that really guaranteed a town win.

^^ i agree the name claiming really shut down mafia towards the end. Townies that should have been easy lynch targets were impossible to wagon because of the circles and claiming.
But Mafia had a fair chance to win this one as well I thought. Hard to say based on one game.

i do not think that is accurate
what killed mafia was their refusal to fake claim abilities that could apply to multiple names

i realized after game started i dont really know shit about harry potter.

yo aidnai sorry about the day one lynch, seems you're a bit unhappy about it.

... Not sure how much you've read HP, but it's really difficult, given the limited number of blue roles, to concoct an ability that would apply to multiples of them.

LOL yeah, I'm terribly sorry. I blame myself for staying up late and waking up super late at night, then not having enough brain power to judge anything. I didn't have a lot to work with since people didn't trust me that much I didn't have any good PM's to me. Kitaman sent me some but it was just like VOTE DR.H, without any other information as to why. It's really tough having to analyze and read so much with a given time limit. Anyways good game, I'm sure to play more mafia in the future!

... didn't mean to insult you. But as a HP mania, you would surely know just how detailed these characters are. If by chance we think up an ability that goes against a tiny detail of the character, it's an immediate red flag. -_- Too much of a risk, especially when the list of characters was already there.

for example, "i am a DT with the ability to see if someone killed another player or witnessed the murder." that was luna. but it could apply to many players under the lore.
mafia can make up a claim like this that is applicable across the board. wanna claim DT? many DTs in the game, or chars that could act as such.

So does this mean I'm 1-0 as a townie? :p
|
Sorry I acted so scummy! This was my first game, and I really had (have) no idea what to do. But after all the town circles revealed themselves (and made it clear they had access to VASTLY more information than I could hope for), I just tried to provide what information I could and let them do the analysis since I wouldn't trust me if I were them.
Good job guys!

I was playing a little inactive on purpose this game to stay under the DE's radar (not that it actually worked... did you guys figure out who I was or just kill me randomly?). After saving Meapak on night one, I had a confirmed townie to give my thoughts to so I didn't really need to post. Also, I trusted him to keep me from being lynched if it came to that.
I should've stuck with my gut a little more. First night I wanted to bus onto LSB, but I was afraid that he might get hit by something that I didn't want to redirect onto Meapak. Second night I wanted to bus onto DoctorH but I felt it wasn't worth the risk of killing the medic. Would've been epic if I'd managed to kill two in two nights lol.

Well gg all, Due to Mod confirmed town circles, the mafia were going to have a hard time bandwagonning us into lynching town on the last few days.
