Tis the season!
Hey TL, i'm making a Christmas list but I need your help! I want to make sure that I get quality stuff for as cheap as possible (big surprise n_n). So if you kind fellows could point me in the right direction i'd be eternally grateful! Ok so first on the list is:
1)Headphones; What are some good noise-canceling headphones that are preferably less than $50? Also, what are the cheapest wireless headphones?
2)Computer Monitor; I'd looking for a monitor that supports 16 : 9.
3)Speakers; Not sure if speakers will make the cut for the list but i'd like to compare the quality and price with the headphone suggestions.
That pretty much wraps it up for what I need advice on. If I think of anything else I'll be sure to edit it in.
Thanks all, and Happy Holidays!!

Agreed with not finding noise cancelling headphones for under $50, and if you do they will be absolute garbage. Also, from what I know wireless headphones are pretty awful for the most part (plus they're huge and ugly :/). I have AudioTechnica ATH-50s and I like them a lot, but they're $100 (also good in this range are Sennheiser HD550s). For headphones, I'm not sure what you can get in terms of real quality for ~$50, maybe some cheaper Sennheisers?
As for monitors, I can't really give any suggestions- look for sales on name brands? I think they're mostly the same (I will probably be crucified by some monitorphile for this) at each price point. Just make sure it can support fairly high resolutions, and has a low response time and fast refresh rate.
As for speakers, you can generally pick up some decent 2.1 or 5.1 speakers for ~50 dollars. Really, when it comes down to it though- nothing beats headphones for listening to music and gaming. Headphones are much better on a personal level, but if you're listening to music or watching music with other people they obviously kinda suck. I used to use speakers, but once you get into headphones there really is no turning back.
Merry Fishmas

If he is looking for noise canceling headphones, he shouldn't get a pair of open-back headphones... Those arguably sound better but they don't block outside noise and they tend to leak sound out (so people around you will hear your music pretty loudly).

Are you looking for computer speakers, or a surround sound system? Also, what resolution do you want the monitor to be in? and last, do they need to be noise cancelling? Okay... I lied. Not last. Do you want decent headphones for about 50 that look cool or headphones about 70+ that sound awesome and look okay?

check out gamecon headsets there really cheap and comfortable and work great, theres open ear and closed ear.

Logitech Z313s are decent speakers that i have. Fairly bass heavy, but fairly awesome nonetheless.

thanks for posting, those look like a nice deal. I might have to finally buy a pair of real headphones.
For the monitor search (and the other stuff as well) I might recommend newegg. They generally have great prices and lots of user reviews on the products.
