It's not just T-shirts that are giving revenue to TL. There's the advertising fees and the support from TLAF. All proceeds are funneled back into the site, so I imagine the HQ is a subsidiary of the site, and will therefore have some support from the funds obtained.
Or maybe R1CH is hacking into banks, I dunno. He could probably get away with it, too, even if those pesky kids and their stupid dog get in the way.

I always thought TLAF was a sponsor for the team, and wasn't really involved in the site.

Also, what have some of the staffs favourite innovations/upgrades to TL? Userstreams? When TL got a voice chat server?
TLPD and calender ^^;;
Both were the best things ever, and the first/most comprehensive things at this point.
Oh, and of course liquipedia, but i might have a little bias.

But are the content the avarage user puts out declining or have you had to ban/warn people about stuff this frequent back in the BW days of TL ? EDIT: or have the quality of posts/threads gone up since the increase ? Some forum veterans (especially huge BW fans) have had a bit of a negative attitude towards all of the new SC2 users, but everyone on staff is very happy. My opinion is that the SC2 crowd has brought a ton of vigor and excitement to the site. And it's almost a relief to see that TL has stayed on top through the transition from BW to SC2, by catering to SC2ers and other new users. It definitely wasn't a foregone conclusion that TL would remain as great once SC2 came out.
I think average post quality has actually gone up consistently (but slowly) over the history of TL. If you look at old threads you see tons of banned users; as the site has grown it's had to become less "clique of bros" and more "fun for everyone" (but not in a lame way). Average knowledge about the scene or the game has gone down, but that doesn't necessarily correlate to post quality. And it's also a sign that SC is becoming mainstream (less niche), so there's an upside to that too.
Especially since the report feature was instituted, I think the only major stress on mods from all the new users is in closing new threads. More users just means more bad OPs, and that's more boring / sometimes frustrating work for the staff.

Do you have any idea whether Blizz reads this forum?
(I ask because I'd much rather them taking input from this site rather than their own site.)
