I'm trying to get a 1v2 going with guys on station when a gang jumps in and their leader convos me and asks me to let myself get attacked and scrambled by him, then aggress myself so I can't dock up, then aggress gate guns by attacking a neutral so I get them on me too.
Crazy Vania > Dude, I'm gonna attack you, so that they attack me Crazy Vania > my fleet is waiting to kill them KwarK uK > can if you like Crazy Vania > when they start shooting at me or you, shoot back at them and stop shooting at me KwarK uK > er KwarK uK > if i attack them i'll get gate gunned Crazy Vania > you can shoot back at me btw Crazy Vania > it's ok, we'll be there to help Crazy Vania > shoot back with only one missile dude Crazy Vania > COME ON Crazy Vania > ok whatever Crazy Vania > you're too slow KwarK uK > lol Crazy Vania > if you had shot back at me, the other guys would have shot at me and then my fleet would have killed everything Crazy Vania > but you're just too goddamn slow to understand anything Crazy Vania > bye bye KwarK uK > lol KwarK uK > that's one thing that could have happened Crazy Vania > what else ??? KwarK uK > another is that i would be scrammed and aggressed on a station KwarK uK > with your gang here Crazy Vania > dude we're anti pirates KwarK uK > and the other one has bells on it Crazy Vania > we can't shoot you KwarK uK > maybe you should pull it

I would have pulled the bell if I was Crazy Vania, maybe it was attached to your aggro button.

Okay serious question for you guys I"m interested in this game but severely limited by budget at the moment. I've read through on your how to get started issues and I'm aware there's legit ways to buy in game time with ISK. So...
1) Is it within the realm of possibility to get a good enough start with the method you posted and by picking a period of time where you'll have enough time to play a good amount to buy in game time off your trial?
2) How much time would you have to dedicate within any given in game time period would you have to dedicate to earn enough extra ISK on the side to be able to theoretically never have to buy game time with real $$. Would you have to go all Chinese gold farmer? Or is it more like you'd have to go insane farm mode during the trial to get started but it'll stabilize after that.
Im interested in EVE because one thing I always got frustrated at with other games is a low Skill cap while it seems like idiots can succeed in EVE it's tougher and from what I've seen it SEEMS like someone who takes time to get good at the game will get rewarded.

I dont think you will be able to pay the first time with ingame money, since the trialtime is only 21 days long and you need basic skills before you can start making money, even if salvaging. After this 51days you should however be able to pay with ingame money.

You can go for salvaging to get some decent isk while working toward a drake which can do level 4 missions. Level 4 can help you pay for game time fast. But it would take about 2 months to be able to do 4s at a reasonable speed though.

Only 1 and a half month if you're pro like me and start an alt with +3's in its head right off the bat.
Edit: Of course you won't be in a pvp capable ship. It'll be for purely pve, but you should be able to earn about 20+ mil an hour once you get into it.

1. Train gas mining(5days) 2. Train skills for moa 3. Join wh corp 4. Mine gas with corpies in your moa 5. Make 100mil/h 6. ??? 7. Profit!
Note: Steps 1-3 interchangable
|
3. Join wh corp 4. Mine gas with corpies in your moa
That might be the hardest thing to do. Try to sell your skills to a WH corp if all you can fly is a stripped MOA with harvesters.

I might jump back into eve over summer while I've got nothing to do. It may sound boring to many of you but back in the day I was close to having completely maxed mining skills. Also think I was up to doing level 4 missions.
|
Actually one of the best ways to make isk is to have two alts running level four missions and then a third alt afk mining in a hulk. 90 mil an hour once both off your mission ships are pimp. Usually not that boring either because you switch screens alot

- - - - - - -
As of right now, my 21 day trial is 3 days old and I have only done 2 salvage trips. With trading + 2 salvage trips I am up to ~75mil isk maybe as high as 80mil isk (depends on how well i can trade the goods i got off my last salvage trip) in 3 days due to trading + salvage.
I will probably be able to get a PLEX by the end of my trial (I assume that I will not be able to continue to make 25 mil / day but we will see).
- - - - - - - -
Now trading is VERY time intensive with low amounts of capital. I now have enough cash in my station trading, and am diversified enough that I can leave my trades for 2 - 3 hours and still come back to enough profits that I can trade for even more.
So basically for your first few days you will be stuck in station managing the items you are trading 0.01isk'ing everyone for hours. And then when you get to 20+ mil isk in buy/sell orders you can then leave station for hours in order to do PvP and such.
Salvaging is always a good reason to leave your station as you can get 10+ mil/hour salvaging and you will make more doing that than simply trading, but trading + salvaging = more isk/hour.

This is so true even after CCP nerfed level 4 mission drops. Its too bad I don't mission by Emol otherwise the Hatchery members will have a field day since I wipe out rats so fast (Sorry, I like my 3k isk to LP ratio).

We just did our first successful extortion. The money was pretty awful but we didn't really want to fight them anyway, was a war I started on a whim because some guy was rude to Karah. Their leader wanted to be a corp CEO and play the game like that and was trying to build something and our dec came at a pretty awful time for him so he paid us off to leave them alone and keep it all quiet. Wasn't the kind of war I really enjoy (they were tiny and wouldn't have formed a fleet or hunted us at all) so I think it worked out pretty nicely.

Well, I guess you might want to check which of their corp members doesn't come online a lot and just say you're his irl friend from work or something.
Either that or some bullshit about how you're good at 0.0 pvp, it worked for me.
P.S.: BLOAs are fucking awesome man, don't hate on them.
