I like the history you have for Stalife there XD Our rainforests will totally kick your ass, though. Wasteland what? Get out.
Going to make a thread for tournament/match ideas. This shit is HAPPENING.

Ok guys, official thread is up in the blogs section. Start posting some ideas! Right now I'm defaulting to Best-of-9 epic team match.
http://www.teamliquid.net/blogs/viewblog.php?id=163635
On-topic: NoHrt, I know a lot depends on the turn-out and success of the first tournament, but any idea when you might continue the Canada Cup or related projects after the first?

sounds good bring your best. you know our roster will be stacked. May I suggest on the format?
each team submits a roster + starter with a default map for the first game.
a game will be bo1. if east wins, then east will choose which player they want to play next. then west will choose who they will put against them, aswell as the map, but no map repeats. and the format will continue like that. map pool : ladder

This entrance fee seems high. The tourney will collect $5120 from the players + ???? from the sponsors and only pay out 1700$? Am I missing something?

Is this guy on crack? I could be wrong but Drewbie might have been born in Mongolia (care to confirm drewbie? lol)
But he doesn't look like a mongoloid lol. Stalife defiantly does NOT however, have 4 kids and a wife in Ontario. He is like 18 with a girlfriend he brings to the lans lol.
Regardless
If u east coasters think ur soooooo good. Well here is the platform. Instead of coming into a west coast lan thread trying to see who's dick is bigger. Why don't u show up and we can settle this Karate Kid tournament style nukka's.
Talk is cheap, battlecruiser aren't
PS: Desolate wastelad? I've lived in Ontario, quebec, alberta and now live in bc. And I can say this 100% BC is the best province in canada. And any of u who think otherwise, haven't left manitoba

yes you are missing alot
1) This lan spreads over 5 seperate days. And the lan center has to be rented out for each day (not sure the price but that is probably 95% of the remaining money outside the prize pool) 2).............. Ok you are only missing one point. But it's a big point!
* Also, the sponsors aren't giving money to the organizers (Go to l2sc.net for more info) But for example, coke donated lift passes to whistler backcomb( if u have ever been their, you would know a one day lift pass is 150-200 depending on the season) All u have to do is buy a can of coke to be entered into the raffle. More prizes coming to, as well as some un anounced ones. I see that J!nx has donated prizes as well.
I understand being 25 may be a little older than the usual sc2 player, but 40 bucks seems like pennies to me for a chance to win 1k, especially if u r confident in ur skills

SC2 > Fighting games. Cool video though.
I don't think there will be too much of a conflict on this. If both tourney's get off well perhaps a joint effort in the future? MLG Canada here we come.

Sponsors are providing prizes, no money to us, most of the money is going to the tournament prizes, and the location.
Jinx is giving us T-shirts/swag coca-cola is giving us lift tickets VS-gaming is providing location sennheiser is giving us headsets.
I am still working on getting some more prizes, hopefully I'll get word soon.

their's just started as well. so not sure who gets trademark, but as ic3d said, e-sports > fighting games, so they copied us
our influence was strictly canadian, we wanted something that would ring true with all canadians, canadian open, stanley cup, canadian world tour, things like this, we ultimately chose canadian cup. We like it.

wow, im totally impressed that theres an actual cup involved. will the winner be drinking red bull or something out of it?

Does that mean your going to sign up! =D Some regulars to the 604 SC2 community have yet to sign up. Which is a bit concerning.
Winner can make his mark out of the cup anyway he wishes.
