As other big tournaments brought a lot of gamers into the forefront of professional Starcraft, we hope that the Canadian Cup will be able to promote and boost Canadian E-sports. Our passion is Esports in Canada and our goal is to mainstream E-sports. l2sc dreams big and because of this, it's our inspiration to create and promote a bigger and better community for Canadian E-sports. The Canadian Cup was the mastermind of 2 months of planning and we hope that the local Canadian/Western America Starcraft 2 community can embrace what we have created to help make our dreams come true.
The road to the Canadian Cup is series of online and offline events that will culminate with the Canadian Cup.Winners of the actual cup can make their mark on the cup in any way they please; from writing your name on it, to painting it pink. We will leave the creativity to the winner of the cup. With support from our community we can make this happen and then some. Starcraft 2 is just in its infancy and as the game grows we hope the Canadian Cup can as well.
This tournament is our first step into the Canadian Cup series. This one will start off big! We will begin with 4 days of qualifiers and end with a day of finals. We have formatted the tournament so people from all skill levels have a chance of winning a prize and possibly moving onto the finals.

If this goes well we hope to have different ways/days to enter future cups.
I am sure you can get one Saturday off in Nov to play some SC2

Cool tour, and I'm pretty sure prize #4 is worth as much as prize #3. At the same time, 128 * 40 = 5120, so how much are you pocketing..? With so many players, that kind of a buy-in will mean that a lot of lesser players wont bother, and you could end up with 20 signed up.

Well we definitely arent here to screw our SC2 community out of money, You can ask anyone who has came to our previous events that.Try renting out a lan cafe for 5 days and see the number you get, plus promotions(we have been running 25$ koth's every saturday since sept 25).
We are doing this because of our passion for Esports and to hype up the local SC2 community, not pocket $.
With the prize pool, sponsors the type of tournaments we have held before its worth your 40$. Also we havent posted some of the prizes and other sponsors we got because they havent gave us a full list of what they will be providing us. We are trying to make it so all 32 players in the finals get prizes.so that means you just need to finish top 2 in your pool of 8 to make it to the top 32.
Also unlike other LAN tournaments, you would pay 20-30$ for a a winners/loser bracket system. This makes it so if you lose every game you only play 2, In our system its a minimum of 4 games played.
Regardless im sure the people who went to L3 can back l2sc.net and the tournaments we run 100%.

The L3 Lan was awesome, and extremely well run. Everything ran smoothly and the atmosphere was always positive, no technical issues and they even finished on time. That being said this tournament is a step down from a full league, and combined with the sponsors and prize pool, I believe that this is the largest or second largest local tournament this side of the states. And besides that you're guaranteed 4 games, with basically a 1/4 chance of continuing to the finals and bagging at least one prize. You could even throw in pot odds at winning coin, and I bet they're better then most elimination style tournaments..
And besides all that, you don't have any problem with big corporations banking coin off tournaments and games (GSL), so even if they were banking some coin, why do you have a problem with it?
I'll be showing up for sure, better watch out for Terrans new 3pronged attack, Sensor Towers, Tanks and BCs. Be ruining face all over place.

Oh man, gonna be so awsome, and I am so their for this one!!!!!
|

|
Wasn't VS Gaming supposed to close down?
|
Tourney page will be open Tuesday (tomorrow)! We are just getting the last few pieces of the multi-day registration tested and working (I hope) .
|
This is going to kill everything productive I do.
EDIT: Props for the tourney layout, its very well thought out based on the location.
|
Pressing the register for day 1 button, doesnt seem to be working!!!!
*nevermind didnt notice the part that pops up on the bottom. Im sorry if u got Arkless as registered 5 thousand times!
|
Looks great, these guys are a very good organization and I have worked with them before, and wish them the best.
|
Hype. Hyyyyyyyyyype.
*Edit* Ok, I've composed myself. I want to say that you've got a sick sponsor on-board, Sennheiser. I seriously have only had headphones from one other brand to come close to Sennheisers, so pimp that shit well, 'cause they really are top-of-the-line and I'd love to see them stay as a permanent sponsor.
