There is now Terran, Protoss, Zerg, and Fruitdealer. There is no way someone just playing zerg can do the things he does. The man is less of a player and more of an artist that uses zerg as his paint.

He deserves every little bit of his prize pool, and really a whole lot more. HopeTorture is an amazing amazing player, but Fruitdealer made him look like a 1400 Terran.

My father's like this, I give him half of my earnings at work and it pays a lot since he keeps some in the bank for me to use in the future.

That's pretty cool that Won Ki's parents decide to show up to support him

....on the biggest day of his career. Would've been much more touching had they kept supporting him throughout his career. Then again, those fruits won't sell themselves you know.

You know a reason why his parents never showed up to his games before, might be because he hasn't ever gotten to a semi-finals or finals of any BW leagues before? This is the first time that Cool's in an event that is ALL about him, and with a ton of money on the line. It's totally unfair to criticize his mom for that.

Q: How much of your skill do you think you were able to show?
A: I think I was able to show all of it. I was a bit nervous in the first game, but I was able to focus knowing my opponent would be nervous as well. I think I played 130% today.

No kidding.

I've read the entire thread and didn't notice anyone saying this so I'll point it out:

The reason why Cool's parents did not come beforehand was simply because Cool did not tell him he was playing. I'm pretty sure he states it in the Ro4 interview how he did not want to dissapoint them so he only called them up to tell them after he was already in line to win $26000.

So no, Cool's family is cool.

It's actually tradition to give the entirety of your first paycheck to your parents out of respect. So Cool keeping any of it is NOT the norm in Korea.

And yes, the "caring and love" effect in Korea is definitely aimed backwards where the son/daughter honors his mother/father rather than in America where its mostly forwards.

Anyone ever think that Cool's mom is a busy woman, and she probably doesn't have time to come out to EVERY SINGLE ONE of his games? Maybe the fact that it was a finals game with so much money on the line took priority over her busy schedule? Can't really fault her for thinking like that. This is a great underdog story and you guys are turning it into some American deceit story.

Sometimes stories really are as good as they sound.
