Managed to get a hold of the new wow beta by the generosity of a friend of mine. It is rather amazing that they managed to up'ed the graphic despite the engine being rather old.
So far I am liking it a lot more than LK. I have always felt they tried to add too much into the game and the talent trees are very bloated. They made stormwind city a much better place to be in as well by adding an auction house right across from the bank: now even more convenient than lagforge.
Since I have been playing sc2 for almost 1/2 a year I am not too used to the keybinds =S... and to think I used to consider myself one of the top 5% =S.
I cannot figure out how to get to vashjir (boat event doesnt trigger), so I decided to start out at hyjal.
And there I found this quest...
Will update as I play it through!
Edit 1: I am leveling this warrior up as prot (I am a tank specialist!). This is not my main, my main has 52k hp unbuffed... In cata tanks should have ~120k
This quest text annoys me: Help us, warrior! The forest is aflame, and the wee animals can't find their way out. They can't fight for themselves, with their teeny-tiny little teeth and their soft furry paws! They're fluffy and sweet. They have wet little noses! If you don't save them, I don't want to even THINK about it. <She slaps her palms over her eyes.> I'm not thinking!
WEE ANIMALS! $^&* When I go pick up the animals they scream "WAH!" as if I am butchering them

haha they're after terran players :p

yea they made cataclysm greens better than 25 man icecrown drops or so i have been informed. Similar to how tbc made almost every piece of pre tbc gear useless outside of set bonuses.
but 47k hp? hmm i suspect he plays tank ;P

That's an awful lot for a Mage back then, unless that's with buffs... PvP gear? I think my Warrior main tank had about that much unbuffed back in the MC days... :p
And yeah the Warrior in the SS is definitely tank spec judging by the action bar.

Tanks will probably have 100k+ health. They screwed up the damage and avoidance mechanics in WotLK hard, so the health increase is an attempt to balance it out.
No way I'd ever go near that shit game again though.

At least we'll get rid of all those crybabies asking Gearscore everytime before going to a raid pick up group. >_<

I wouldn't be surprised to see 200k raid buffed before the next expansion if they keep scaling it up the way they have been. One of my friends who still plays has like 72k raid buffed now, and he's only in ICC10 gear I think. I would also expect to see players doing ~20k DPS as standard initially at 85. Rule of thumb so far seems to be DPS double twice every expansion: Once when leveling up and once for gear between intro and final. Tank HP is vaguely similar.

I got beta last week also, but didn't really have that desire to start leveling. So i played a couple goblin quests.
Should check the whole azeroth. Seems like its pretty neat.

They did say that health pools for all classes will be a little closer together than they have been in the past, but I think it's pretty likely that tanks will have a minimum of 100k by the first raid encounter. Also, of course, they've changed itemization yet again so each piece of gear (even currently equipped, not just Cataclysm greens) will have somewhere around 1.5-2x Stamina on it. My mage went from 19k health to over 30k in the same gear after I copied him over.

He's a protection warrior fully specced, with double stam trinkets 47k is NOTHING for that level. My warrior I think was low for being 50k unbuffed before the beta since i quit shortly after icecrown and didn't get much gear.
|
Man, seeing this kind of makes me want to start playing my 80 warrior, haha. But I guess I don't miss it as much since Blizzard pretty much ruined it for me :[
|
No offense but having to pay for a mediocre labrat game is still as shitty as it was in 2004. my friend bought me an account and all I do is fishbot and play the auction house. Insecretly want a Goblin Warlock however.

I was a big PVEer and I find raids very taxing on my schedule. I will probably only play cataclysm casually with my friends in 10 man raids.

HP geared mage in HWL could do it, but their damage would be terrible.
