Well today i just purchased Linkin Parks new album and was really disappointed.
The new Linkin Park album "A thousand suns" is really really really bad....Ive listened to Linkin Park since Hybrid Theory, and they where my first real rock band. It hurts me inside to know how such a good band could produce such a shit album....
LP used to be GOD TIER music...my 6th and 7th grade was consumed by their music...but its deteriorating.
Hybrid Theory was amazing, Meteora was GODLIKE, then minutes to midnight was WTFBBQ? And from that album it all went downhill to me.
Hopefully they will listen to the fans this time and produce another epic album....I understand that they are trying to create a new image/genere for themselves but they are best when they stick to their roots..
Comments? or am i alone.

Nah, everyone on LP is uberich now so they spend most of their time doing drugs
On a serious note, a band produces whatever they want. Yes, it may not meet the taste of their old fans but I didn't find the album too unbearable at all.

Yeah I'm sorrry, but I don't like their experimenting... it's OKAY.

The album isn't actually that bad if you go in knowing its a complete reboot of their image. IT is meant to be completely different than anything they have ever done combined with something most of their diehard fans prob wouldn't like. If you listen to it start to finish it actually is kinda interesting. Most of the songs on their own are meh though

I heard the album last night and I gotta say, I expected the radical change in sound so I was not dissapointed. In fact, I sorta liked it, when I was going to bed last night I was humming one of their new songs and wanted to listen to the album again.
It's HELLA different and I'd love to see them go back to a Meteora sound just as much as any LP fan but I'm still going to go see them live next year. You know they're still going to play the old stuff there.

Loved Hybrid Theory. Equally loved Meteora. Minutes to Midnight was o.k. A Thousand Suns is awful. A few songs are o.k.

Ya I loved LP's first 2 albums, but after that it went downhill and I don't even listen to them anymore.

I actually was never a big fan of anything Linkin Park released after Hybrid Theory. I like this album though. It is certainly a departure from their old stuff, but I am in no way disappointed.

i haven't listened to the album yet, but my experience was that hybrid theory was good, meteora was ok, and i loved or hated every song in minutes to midnight. but the majority of the first two albums felt like angsty teenager music to me, and it didn't do anything to hide that (numb?)

mike shinoda should just do more fort minor stuff imo.

Hybrid Theory is one of my favorite albums. It's so raw. Meteora was awesome too. I stopped listening after that though.

I actually liked Minutes to Midnight.
But this album is just terrible.

Same here.
I was driving back home then the radio station I was tuning in to played one of their songs. I did not automatically recognize it was them unlike when they sang "new divide". I was "shocked" when the dj said that it was LPs new song. It wasn't totally like them at all.

Everything went ok with LP until they made "minutes to midnight"
Meteora was their best ever

I'm not really a fan of Linkin Park, but I mean your review (if it could be called that) is not very helpful. You should probably elaborate a little bit on what makes it so bad, otherwise it just seems like you are falling victim to the new=automaticallymeansterrible syndrome.

I expected the radical sound change and still hate the new direction LP went. As a band that is their right but I miss the Hybrid Theory/Meteora sounds.
You can't even tell it's LP anymore.
They were far away my favorite band back then. Thank god I saw them live when Meteora was their new album. I'll never forget that concert.
MtM was a foreshadowing I tried to ignore....sigh
